The plant she has squashed was quite a spiky big affair until she plonked herself in the middle of it! She looked a bit befuddled, then she spotted me and employed 'staring contest' tactics!
Or beats him in a staring contest. While working from home I've become attuned to the daily natural disturbances outside. Disagreements between our cats and our neighbor's cat Baxter are among them. Everyone likes to be king of the woodpile, but there can be only one king, and Baxter was sovereign this morning.

Just a little fun with philosophy :)
"Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you stare at the abyss, the abyss will sure as hell stare back at you."
-Friedrich Nietzsche
A cheery, humorous, slightly altered and horribly misinterpreted portrayal of a fairly dark passage and theme from the German philosopher (and moustache legend), Friedrich Nietzsche.

Izzy looking rather regal and serious in between thoughts of food and the droning airplane noise in her head.
My daily routine: Staring at my monitor lizard staring at me staring at him. I'd clean him, but I'm too lazy and I wouldn't be able to say I'm leaving him in the dust.

Keko and Neko have been locked in a never ending staring contest spanning epic proportions. Keko has brought an olive branch as a sign of peace but cats never negotiate... 🐈
175 of 365: accompanied L to the pet store so she could pick up poopie-bags for her dog, Molly. I was keeping myself amused in the meantime. Cute, eh?
Onn our way through Cades Cove this time all the horses were out in the field feeding and these two horses were just standing in the middle of the field staring at each other. Not just for a few seconds either. They stayed like this the whole time I was there taking photos which was about twenty minutes.
I wonder who won?
This is Whitey the beautiful feral cat having a stare down with a mouse. The mouse really camouflages in with the rock.

Painted Turtles are divided into four subspecies (The Eastern, The Midland, The Western and The Southern Painted Turtle). Differentiating them is difficult as they all are superficially similar looking.
Male and female painted turtles are, however, easy to tell apart. The most obvious characteristic in males is their long front claws. Males also tend to be smaller and have a longer tail than their female counterparts.
