This was not quite the image that I was hoping for but the double sun flare and leading lines from the right make this quite appealing. More from Stanwick to come when I get a little luckier on the skies above the complex.

An pre-sunset view across the back lake with a perfectly still lake and interesting sky. The water was silky smooth, with only the fly's and fish breaking the water periodically. It was an amazing peaceful spot to be one with nature.
I used a polarizing filter and grad to get the blue in the sky.

Whilst checking out another shooting location on the west side of the Stanwick Lakes complex, the sun began to drop and I looked over at the columns supporting the bridge over the flood plains.
The scene is not really much to look at, but the light was amazing and I thought that I'd capture this one as a black and white image to show the perspective using the light and shade on the pillars.

This bird hasn't been reported for about a week now meaning hopefully it has moved somewhere ready for the breeding season. It's also good timing as it means I can start focussing on some other projects I've got planned

I like the way that the lines lead in on this image leaving the dark top portion.

I have been holding these back from you - no other reason than I posted a few from Stanwick Lakes some time ago, so thoght I'd leave a gap. Only a little bit of contrast boost in these - colours are as I saw them!
Back to the bearded tit photos again tonight. I was lucky to able to photgraph this bird on a couple of occasions although the weather did get progressively worse across the visits starting with nice sunshine then onto overcast conditions and finally heavy cloud. This was the second visit with the overcast conditions providing some nicely diffused, even light
We stayed on the grounds of the 20th annual Cycle the Erie Canal tour from Buffalo to Albany, NY in July, 2018.
I've got loads similar to this shot... I was waiting for the sun to come up a bit to try and capture the grass 'grabbing' the sun... I had to use a large aperture to keep the sun a little diffused, hence it looks a bit oval, and it looks like there's two of them!

This image was capture just as I was about to begin packing up and making my way home. The sunrise had cleared but then the bank of cloud came in from the left and turned purple for just a few minutes. It complimented the orange and yellow of the passing sunrise and I just could not let this one go by.

Ferrari 250 GT SWB ,RU20, at Sywell Aerodrome for the National Ferrari Day and Concours.
This is the car that was left to the RNLI by Stanwick business man Richard Colton and was sold at auction in 2015 for £6.6 million.
It has since undergone at £500,000 rebuild at DK engineering and is now valued at £10 million.
Hay Bale at Sunset I - Copyright 2015 Martyn Phillips, M4Photo.
You can’t always predict the weather or a decent sunset whilst the farmers are harvesting, plus you can’t predict when the crop will be harvested, whether the bales will be square, round or some other shape, whether they will be wrapped or left open and then will then fall in the field the right way for the composition.
I knew what I was looking for and despite about 20 or 30 wheat fields being harvested, I really struggled the find the weather conditions right and the bales in the right place. This evening, the weather was fairly good and the sunset reasonable. It could have been better and I’d have preferred some leading lines in the final composition, but with a very short time window this year, I got out and made the best of what the local countryside has to offer.
This is the first of two images from the location and this one has only undergone a little post production work for a more natural image.

This is the second of two images from the location and this one has only undergone a little post production work but the sky really did turn red over to the west and a golden yellow where the sun had dropped below the horizon.

Spot my favouirite bit of this shot to win the prize... OK, there is no prize.
You're all wrong, it's the light on the back of his neck ;0) .... I'm lying, of course it's the droplet. your prizes are in the post =D
By the way, apart from a bit of adjustment on the contrast, this was the colour the camera captured
