Bearded reedling female
Who needs arms and hands when you have legs like theirs. Bearded reedlings can just about reach anything at any angle with their ambidexterous legs
Saguaro cactus seem to stand in glorious attention in their environment and view distant wonders. This photo was taken from the Sunrise Trail in the Scottsdale McDowell Mountain Preserve. In the distance are the Mazatzal Mountains in the Tonto National Forest with Four Peaks seen on the right side. Brown's Peak at 7,659 feet is the tallest and is at the left of the four. And, yes that is some snow can be seen on the peaks.

Godsmack-I stand alone
Now I've told you this once before
You can't control me
If you try to take me down you're gonna break
I feel your every nothing that you're doing for me
I'm picking you out of me
You run away
I stand alone
Inside
I stand alone
You're always hiding behind your so called goddess
So what you don't think that we can see your face
Resurrected back before the final fallen
Now they've arrest until I can make my own way
I'm not afraid of fading
I stand alone
Feeling your sting down inside me
I'm not dying for it
I stand alone
Everything that I believe is fading
I stand alone
Inside
I stand alone
And now its my time (now its my time)
It's my time to dream (my time to dream)
Dream of the sky (dream of the sky)
Make me believe that this place is inplagued
By the poison in me
Help me decide if my fire will burn out
Before you can breathe
Breathe into me
I stand alone
Inside
I stand alone
Feeling your sting down inside me
I'm not dying for it
I stand alone
Everything that I believe is fading
I stand alone
Inside
I stand alone
Inside
I stand alone
Inside
I stand alone

If we all stand together we can weather even the worst of storms!
One of my very first attempts at long exposures after the sunset.
I was VERY pleased with how well it turned out.
It is going to be really hard to top this tonight...but I'll have to try!
Vandyke brown print on Bergger cot 160.

Home made Vandyke brown emulsion hand painted, camera negative contact print exposed to sun for 2.5 minutes.

Crab spider (Mecaphesa spp.) vs. skipper with the Purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) as the battleground. There are battles everyday, everywhere you look.
Lomagnupur mountain reflecting in a roadside pool. It helped that tourism was down during my visit. Otherwise, I may not have been able to pull over to make some of the photographs. There were not many pull-outs on the road, and virtually no shoulder; so no traffic was helpful in seeing ahead to make stops when possible. South Iceland, April 2021

A group of evergreens stands tall, unaffected by a snow squall on a mountain cliff behind them.
In October the mighty maple tree transforms it's leaves into magical colours while standing tall in the forest.
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.
Have a safe and happy day dear flickr friends !
With the failure of the class 56XX no.5643, ex-L&Y Aspinall designed 'Pug’ 1910 built Class ’21' 0-4-0ST no.19 acted as stand in. Here she storms through “Little Burrs”, Bury with the now delayed 16:20 Bury-Rawtenstall train.
ELR L&Y/LNWR Merger Centenary Weekend
On my wanders I’m always looking out for that prominent tree, the one that stands out within there surroundings and a couple of weeks ago I came across this perfectly placed sycamore. Now all we need now is a few more landscape photographers to take photos of it and make it a bit of an icon giving it’s location, which I’m sure is obvious to the keener eyed viewer, and then for some idiot to come along cut it down. Sorry for the dark humour.

The Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes in Death Valley are a harsh environment for plants of all kinds. In this picture, the five bushes stand together to survive the wind-driven sand that makes life difficult, as witnessed by the sticks standing in the background. I took this photo on our visit to Death Valley National Park in 2017.

The trees in this forest grow close together and receive support from each other. There is also little light in the forest and the amount of light decreases all the time as winter comes. The dim light of November was hazy twilight and twinkling beautifully between the trees. 👱♀️🎧🎶 Stand by Me ( Otis Redding ) Finland. On a dark grey November afternoon.
A misty morning in the dark Black Forest, I really like hunting stands as subject in forestphotography.
This one is old and probably not in use anymore.
Took a wonder around the newly cleared inclines of Ben A'an this morning. Lots of new vantage points and a hugely different landscape. Just need to wait about 20 years until it's all looking grand again :)

"Lost" by David Wagoner:
Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you.
If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you.

Stand and deliver!
I'm the dandy highwayman
You're too scared to mention
I spend my cash
On looking flash
And grabbing your attention
The devil take your stereo
Your record collection
The way you look you'll qualify
For next year's old age pension
Stand and deliver
Your money or your life
HWOAH!
Try to use a mirror
Not a bullet or a knife
HWOAH!
I'm the dandy highwayman
So sick of easy fashion
The clumsy boots, peekaboo roots
That people think so dashing
So what's the point of robbery
When nothing is worth taking?
It's kind of tough to tell a scruff
The big mistake he's making
Stand and deliver
Your money or your life
HWOAH!
Try to use a mirror
Not a bullet or a knife
HWOAH!
And even though you fool your soul
Your conscience will be mine
All mine
We're the dandy highwaymen
So tired of excuses
Of deep meaning philosophies
Where only showbiz loses
We're the dandy highwaymen
And here's our invitation
Throw your safety overboard
And join our insect nation!
Stand and deliver
Your money or your life
HWOAH!
Try to use a mirror
Not a bullet or a knife
HWOAH!
And even though you fool your soul
Your conscience will be mine
All mine

This was just for fun today. I drove past and spotted this field of dandelions this morning when returning from the golf course. You can see that I had to go back because it wouldn't be around much longer, all those seeds were going to blow away soon.
