Stockholm Townhall

I liked the cross formed by the tower on Stockholm's Stadhuset by its reflection.

- This is the most attention grabbing room in the Stockholm city hall. The room is decorated with a golden mosaic depicting "Mälardrottningen", the personification and symbol of Stockholm herself.

We will meet it again.

I’ve learned to process RAW files and I’m thinking of revisiting some of my old JPG smartphone photos which were far too severely processed by the on-board software at the time.

City Hall / Stadshuset

Built in 1923, this is still a functioning city hall. It houses offices and conference rooms as well as ceremonial halls, and a luxury restaurant . It is the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet.

The members of the city council – 101 people (mostly women) are hobby legislators with regular day jobs.

Taken from the top of Stockholm's City Hall (Stadshuset). Gamla Stan is the oldest part of Stockholm with narrow streets, old buildings, and some of the city's best restaurants.

The Stadshuset is considered a masterpiece of Swedish National Romanticism, a modern architectural style with domestic roots. The architect, Ragnar Östberg, was also clearly influenced by Italian architecture.

An Italian Renaissance style colonnade separates the courtyard from the garden bordering the lake.
