These stacking rings and heart pendant in silver and amethyst were made for me by my late daughter, Clare, in her silversmithing enterprise, 'rose madder'. Of all the pieces which she gave me, they are my favourites and, since we lost her in May this year, will always have an extra special significance.

This teddy is a small tribute to Dot and Grace of Cupcakes by Design. I've just recently discovered their work and have been blown away with the figure modeling skillz and the rest of their work. So I have given my teddy a bit of a make over. My teddy is sporting the D&G nose and ears ; ) As well as the legs!! I usually tuck them under the teddy....but D&G has inspired me to try a different look. Here's to you Dot and Grace!! keep up the sensational work =D
The stacking ring set, completed. Overall, eleven rings each with a different stone or design, working together in the stack as a whole. A wave motif runs through all eleven rings. Altogether the eleven rings measure approximately 7/8" wide. All the rings are sterling silver and the stones include Swiss blue topaz, chrome diopside, iolite, amethyst, and London blue topaz. This was a custom order.
Hey Flickr friends,
My DH and myself seem to have a difference in opinions. I was wondering if you would be able to help me out?? See I spend HOURS on my babies (cakes) and love to take pictures of them. I'm proud of my talents and love to display them. My DH thinks that I should only post one picture, or two at the most of my cakes and the details I add. I, on the other hand love to show all the little details and showing them up close so you all may enjoy and appreciate them. But I wonder if it detours others from browsing my photo stream?? My DH says that viewers may get board and move on quickly. So what I'm asking is please give me your honest opinion. What do you think is the appropriate amount of pictures I should upload for each cake...lol ; )
Thanks friends!!

These rings take their inspiration from Art Deco metalwork and the jewelry of Wendy Ramshaw. Five rings with thin but sturdy round bands stack together tightly with each element of the ring working together to form a larger, more complex whole. The five rings shown feature a wave pattern, with two of the rings containing stones-- an 5mm round iolite cab, and a 3mm faceted London blue topaz. All the rings are made from sterling silver. They rise above the finger to different heights with the tallest being about 3/4" above the ring shank. This photo shows some of the details of the stems that hold the elements of the rings up off the finger.
This was created as a custom order for an Etsy customer and is actually the first five in an eventual set of ten.

This ring is an homage to Wendy Ramshaw , a very talented jeweler from the UK (http://www.mobilia-gallery.com/artists/wramshaw/index.html). Wendy makes stacking rings-- often up to a dozen thin bands meant to be worn at one time. She turns these display pieces on a lathe out of acrylic, metal, or wood and when the rings are assembled onto them, they looked like little adorned chessmen. Her work is amazing.
This is a spinner ring with three bands, each with a stone. The bands move independently of one another and have the look of stacking rings even though it is a single ring.
The stones are a 4mm citrine, a 3mm garnet, and a 4mm iolite. It is a size 8 3/4. The name of this ring is taken from a Talking Heads song.

The base to this toy is gumpaste . I made the rest with floral wire and beads ; ) I love that it is interactive!!
