I see more and more of these in Boulder. Is it just a Colorado thing, I wonder?

The size of this stack and the volume of exhaust is simply awesome. It forces you to think about the volume of coal being burned and the impact on our environment, even though the exhaust gas has had the particulates removed and has been scrubbed.

This is why I giggle when the pediatrician asks, "Can he stack at least three or four blocks?"
We lift him up when it gets this high. And yes, this was all his doing.
Stacks of "fundreds" waiting to be "banded"!
I took inspiration from "fundreds" that kids around the nation have created and were posted online.
But I also had to paint one of them in homage to my favorite artist, Natasha Wescoat!

Natural light on the left and incandescent table lamp on the right. A bit cooler photo than some I took, white balance set at incandescent. I tend to prefer the warmer photos but this one looks pretty true to colour to me. I can see it being on a website or magazine advertisement for the toy.

The South Stack Lighthouse is built on the summit of a small island off the north-west coast of Holy Island, Anglesey. It was built in 1809 to warn ships of the dangerous rocks below.
Vintage lacquer stackable snack dishes. I suspect they were produced in Japan but they don't have any markings.
The South Stack Lighthouse has warned passing ships of the treacherous rocks below since its completion in 1809. The 28 m (91 ft) lighthouse was designed by Daniel Alexander and the main light is visible to passing vessels for 28 miles, and was designed to allow safe passage for ships on the treacherous Dublin - Holyhead - Liverpool sea route. It provides the first beacon along the northern coast of Anglesey for east-bound ships. It is followed by lighthouses, fog horns and other markers at North Stack, Holyhead breakwater, The Skerries, the Mice and at the north-east tip of the island Trwyn-Du. The lighthouse is operated remotely by Trinity House.[1] It has been visited by the team at Most Haunted.
Visitors can climb to the top of the lighthouse and tour the engine room and exhibition area. The lighthouse is open seasonally.
