Eastward train No.111 out of Chicago threads its way through the interlocker at Kensington on their way to Michigan City. They are coming off 14-miles of trackage rights over the Illinois Central electrified commuter line from downtown Chicago. For all of its existence, the South Shore has relied on the IC to reach Chicago. Early on the tracks of the South Shore did not connect to the IC, passengers physically had to change trains between the two roads via an overhead footbridge located at Pullman just to the north of this photo. Then in 1911 a new interlocking here at Kensington allowed South Shore trains to cross over multiple IC freight mains that parallel the commuter line and reach the IC station just to the north at 111th Street where passengers could swap trains via the station platforms. It was still a cumbersome arrangement, but much better than the walk bridge. It should be noted that the IC trains were still steam powered at this time. In 1926 the South Shore converted their overhead power system from a 6600-volt a.c. system to the 1500-volt d.c. system that the IC recently completed with their conversion from steam to electric on their commuter lines. This allowed South Shore Line trains and passengers to run all the way into downtown.

Las capturas muestran un Airbus A319 de Brussels Airlines (matrÃcula OO-SSL) en plena maniobra de despegue desde el Aeropuerto de Málaga.
Momento de la maniobra: El aparato deja atrás las instalaciones del aeródromo con el tren de aterrizaje aún extendido justo después de despegar, mostrando una marcada inclinación de ascenso sobre las pistas malagueñas.
Librea clásica de la aerolÃnea: El fuselaje combina la sección delantera y central en blanco con la caracterÃstica cola de color azul oscuro adornada con los puntos rojos distintivos y el logotipo corporativo en la parte superior del fuselaje.
Entorno y perspectiva: De fondo se distinguen los edificios, las zonas arboladas y las caracterÃsticas cadenas montañosas de la Costa del Sol bajo un cielo despejado.

Macro Monday 11/30/09 - Security
Nicer Large on Black
Posted for this week's Macro Monday challenge, the theme was Security. The image is of a digital certificate used by a web site to provide encryption between a browser and the server. I thought it appropriate for this week's challenge **but it is a shot I could have basically screenshotted so I may post something a bit more photographically interesting as well later today** (I didn't get around to another and this seems to have been well received :) yay!).
This was done with a lensbaby composer, no aperture ring which I think makes it f/2.
