A SRM for the JPSS-1 launch is offloaded from its delivery truck The JPSS-1 mission will launch aboard a United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket, employing nine SRMs to deliver the satellite to orbit. JPSS, a next-generation environmental satellite system, is a collaborative program between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and NASA. JPSS satellites simultaneously provide sophisticated meteorological data and observations of atmosphere, ocean, and land for short-term, seasonal, and long-term monitoring and forecasting.
