I've no idea what any of the things actually are in this photo except that it's my window in the background :-)
Snapped with an old Kodak DX6490 in macro mode.
Springwatch is an annual TV venture on the BBC here in UK where they visit an area of wildlife interest with livecams in nestboxes, video features of various wildlife projects, etc. It's very encouraging how much interest it generates.
This isn't regrettably our garden, but an area of the local country park.
Think this is a chaffinch?
Common whelk egg cases are a mass of small spongy balls that would be confused for sponges. In the past, sailors did actually use them as wash balls! Washed up in the recent high tides. Fife, Scotland.
This young Sparrowhawk alighted on the garden fence just as the Sun was setting. What a panic to get my zoom lens out of its case and attached to the camera!

I have been enjoying plenty of gardening during lockdown. Its been great to see the pollinators enjoying it too. This photo was taken by myself in Althorne Essex.

My garden bird numbers have been lower than usual. So, as per Packham et al, I thought I would experiment with repositioning my bird feeders. I looked out the window this morning to see if it had worked, and it would seem the dilemma is not due to feeder positioning.
