Some more springtails today - from under stones around a little shelter by Llandrindod Lake. Quite productive, and only spent ten minutes there. :o)

I think this is right, based on Eddie's photos - an undescribed species, probably from New Zealand, that's found its way to the UK. Probably new to Wales, at a guess.

This springtail has irridesent colouring but it's the first time I've noticed the babies come out purple. Taken at 4:1

Finally got my MP-E back! Just in time for the springtails on the white wild flowers again. At first I thought they were not around yet, but then spotted some very small ones. This one must be between 1 and 2mms
