At least it is here in Vancouver... Hello sun and warmer weather! I've seen snowdrops and crocuses popping up in gardens, which is always a sure sign of spring.
I bought four bunches of tulips yesterday and they inspired me to shoot this.
I took these photos a couple of days ago whilst walking around the neighbourhood. Lately it has been warmer outside than it is inside during the day (hubby doesn't like the heater on during the day LOL) so I have been taking lots of walks with my camera. We have hit the first hurdle with the kitchen, thanks to the plumber who didn't arrive this morning. He is coming tomorrow and the kitchen won't be put in until Thursday. All the cupboards and stove etc are now out and the my small kitchen looks huge without anything in it.

It is a miserable, cold day here in Sydney so I decided I would add something to cheer me up. I took these photos yesterday (how can the weather be so changeable LOL). I managed to get some shots of the Hover Fly zooming in and then land on one petal of this pretty Grevillea. Yesterday I showed you some of my daughter's paintings - you can see that she is a very talented photographer as well:

Somebody decided to have a little fun at Gallup Park last weekend. They were a little early for April Fool's Day or late for Halloween.
"Les plantes et les animaux tout autour de nous s'éveillaient d'un long sommeil, et notre jardin s'est lentement transformé en un tapis de vert tendre, et les cieux au-dessus de notre maison se sont à nouveau remplis de chœurs de chants d'oiseaux."

"The plants and animals all around us were waking from a long sleep, and our yard was slowly transformed into a carpet of soft green, and the skies above our house were filled with choruses of birdsong once again.”

I spotted this lovely little bird whilst walking around Mount Tomah Botanical Garden a few weeks back. I only had my 180 mm lens on the camera and by the time I put on the 100-400 lens on, it had flown away.
EXPLORE April 30, 2010.......Several weeks ago I was near Port Huron in Fort Gratiot, Michigan, speaking at a conference and saw this fabulous sunrise on Lake Huron....I jumped out of bed, out came my camera and down the stairs i went...right into that 32 degree weather...not even that kind of weather can keep, even this Florida girl, away from capturing this moment! What a beauty to wake up to! I must admit I was stunned with what my eyes were seeing! What a way to start the day!

Delving through my archives again - this is another variety of Grevillea that grows in my neighbour's garden.
The weather is finally beginning to cool down here - supposed to get down to 9C tonight, but quite windy, so seems even colder. It will soon be time to put the heaters on.
I captured this fiery sunset last night from our log home on Bluebird Estates, Alberta, Canada.
Happy May Day and thanks for visiting.

This photo is of a larvae of a black and yellow ladybird (Fungus-eating Ladybird (Illeis galbula)) that lives on our squash leaves which I spotted on an African Daisy in my garden. I have seen many adult, but not many larvae.
Sweet Crocus I have waited for you and your gift of Saffron.

One of my wife's favorite trees in our yard is this Redbud tree because it reminds her of one that her Granny & Granddaddy had in their yard. I like it because the purple flowers photograph so well against the deep blue sky.

Wonderful to watch my tulips blooming on my balcony. Not sure of the name (please correct me if I am wrong) but I think this is a Tulip Peony Double Early 'Cilesta'.

Here's wishing you a fabulous new week and thanks for the visit.
from my kitchenwindow ,
wish my little friend a good Sunday:
Here's a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry, be happy
In every life we have some trouble
But when you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy now.............

Friedl Hofbauer - born 1924 in Vienna - is the most important authoress of children’s poems , who created rhymes for very small children, and poetry with a lot of atmosphere for older ones.
I love her work.
This completes my 2014 "365 project"! It has 331 photos (check out the '365 project' album). I started it on February 1st of 2014. It has been a great learning (and fun) experience in so many ways - I'm glad I did it! Thanks to all of you on Flickr that supported me and provided great inspiration throughout.
Today's photo was taken in the Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve in Hillsboro, OR.
Yay!

These beautiful Dahlia flowers are growing in my neighbour's garden. There are not too many bees around at the moment as our weather is cooling down fast now, but whilst I was wandering around with my new 50D camera, this one was kind enough to pose for me. These were taken with my Canon 180 mm 3.5 macro lens.
