Heard my first Red-winged Blackbird of the year and was able to capture him in the setting sun. Thursday was like a late Spring day with temperatures of 19 degrees (a new record). A teaser as it is snowing this morning and below zero once again.

Have a great week everyone!

This white azalea bush growing next to my patio is in full bloom and when the sun shines on it it almost seems to glows. A definite highlight, and a sure sign that spring is just around the corner.

We're now seeing early spring flowers, seriously enjoying the warmer weather and longer days of late winter!

I am almost halfway through my 365...ALREADY! I am going to *hopefully* complete my Get Pushed challenge this week!!! I know exactly what I want to do. It's going to be awesome, too.

By the way, thinking about doing a digital print giveaway when I hit 10,000 stream views. :P

Hahaha look at my face! So weird. lol

This photo makes me smile. Wishing everyone a great weekend. With Frank Turner in my headphones, I'm headed out on my bike to pick up a few plastic pots out of the recycle bin at Great Outdoors.

That I was able to catch both F742 and F741 on the same day. This is F741 the south bound version. F742, the north bound counterpart had passed about an hour or so earlier.

After using this technique for Winter and Autumn, I thought I would try a Spring and Summer.

This is to remind me of the orchards coming into bloom in California where I lived..., soon, including Cherries, Apricots, Plums, Nectarines, Peaches, Almonds and Pears. I had these in my own orchard, along with Apples. Apples are last to bloom.

Unfortunately I can't paint the fragrance, or the buzzing of the bees...:)

I'm so happy, Daylight Daving time starts this Sunday !! Woo Hoo! ; )

The phrase "Spring forward, Fall back" helps people remember how Daylight Saving Time affects their clocks. At 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March, we set our clocks forward one hour ahead of Standard Time ("Spring forward," even though Spring doesn't begin until late March, over a week after the start of Daylight Saving Time). We "Fall back" at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday in November by setting our clock back one hour and thus returning to Standard Time.

The change to Daylight Saving Time ostensibly allows us to use less energy in lighting our homes by taking advantage of the longer and later daylight hours. During the eight-month period of Daylight Saving Time, the names of time in each of the time zones in the U.S. (map) change as well. Eastern Standard Time (EST) becomes Eastern Daylight Time, Central Standard Time (CST) becomes Central Daylight Time (CDT), Mountain Standard Time (MST) becomes Mountain Daylight Time (MDT), Pacific Standard Time becomes Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), and so forth.

Spring is coming!

Actually, according to the calendar, it already is here but the weather isn't so springy these days so we're left with contemplating what the winter had kept hidden during those snowy months.

The red buds on this crabapple tell us that spring is not far off. With all this recent snow we have gotten I know that some of you are real excited for that.

I don't care if cherry blossom photos are a cliche. I still have to take them.

Did you see the moon up there?

Two very sunny days in a row, and better late than never!

back from new orleans. still recovering. think i'm getting sick. but it's sunny and warm. and there's green stuff on the ground. so i'm happy.

This little guy is ready for spring. The few we have underneath our back yard window have a head start on those deep in the back yard and those in the front yard.

Playing outside today, we were glad for the snow afterall. Heavy rain on the weekend made for icy conditions and we couldn't play outside, but the recent snow gave us a great base again. Trying to keep a 6 month old puppy occupied on a "rain day" inside is interesting. Much more fun to run around outside and chase those flying "wubbas". We tire of throwing them, long before he gets tired of running after them!
