Happy Halloween! :)

“They cannot scare me with their empty spaces

Between stars—on stars where no human race is.

I have it in me so much nearer home

To scare myself with my own desert places.”

― Robert Frost, "The Poetry of Robert Frost"

"Once upon a time, there was a boy who lived in a house across the field, from a girl who no longer exists. They made up a thousand games. She was queen and he was king. In the autumn light her hair shone like a crown. They collected the world in small handfuls, and when the sky grew dark, they parted with leaves in their hair.”

― Nicole Krauss, "The History of Love"

“Surrounded by darkness yet enfolded in light...”

― Alan Brennert, "Moloka'i"

“I wish I could stuff my mouth full of raindrops and fill my pockets full of snow. I wish I could trace the veins in a fallen leaf and the feel the wind pinch my nose.”

― Tahereh Mafi, "Shatter Me"

“A memory, pressed into my heart like a leaf in a book.”

― Jenny Han, "It's Not Summer Without You"

“Sometimes when I look at you, I feel I'm gazing at a distant star.

It's dazzling, but the light is from tens of thousands of years ago.

Maybe the star doesn't even exist any more. Yet sometimes that light seems more real to me than anything.”

― Haruki Murakami, South of the Border, West of the Sun

"There are two kinds of light - the glow that illuminates, and the glare that obscures."

- James Thurber

“I stood still, vision blurring, and in that moment, I heard my heart break. It was a small, clean sound, like the snapping of a flower's stem.”

― Diana Gabaldon, "Dragonfly in Amber"

“I suppose an active imagination can be a form of madness. Or it can be the thing that keeps you from going mad.”

“Behind the camera, I was invisible. When I lifted it up to my eye it was like I crawled into the lens, losing myself there. and everything else fell away.”

― Sarah Dessen, "Dreamland"

"Living close to the ground

Is seventh Heaven 'cause there are angels all around

Among my frivolous thoughts

I believe there are beautiful things seen by the astronauts

Wake me if you're out there..."

- Owl City, "Angels"

“Sometimes, reaching out and taking someone's hand is the beginning of a journey."

― Vera Nazarian

“I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.”

― Kurt Vonnegut, "Player Piano"

"The longer I stand here

The louder the silence

I know that you're gone but sometimes I swear that I hear

Your voice when the wind blows

So I talk to the shadows

Hoping you might be listening 'cos I want you to know...

It's so loud inside my head

With words that I should have said

And as I drown in my regrets

I can't take back the words I never said

I never said

I can't take back the words I never said

Never said

I can't take back the words I never said."

- "Words," Skylar Grey

So my lens and I do "fight" on occasion (or perhaps a lot), but I think it did an excellent job here...that's all natural bokeh, no texture added. I thought about adding some but I liked this on it's own. :)

"Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing

and rightdoing there is a field.

I'll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass

the world is too full to talk about."

— Rumi

“Dream delivers us to dream, and there is no end to illusion. Life is like a train of moods like a string of beads, and, as we pass through them, they prove to be many-colored lenses which paint the world their own hue. . . . ”

― Ralph Waldo Emerson

“The trouble is not really in being alone, it's being lonely. One can be lonely in the midst of a crowd, don't you think?”

― Christine Feehan, "Dark Prince"

“...and so many colors

I will have seen...

the menacing greys

and pine greens

the soft pink and purples

of spring

and summer blue

and so many others

without you.”

― Sanober Khan, "A touch, a tear, a tempest"

This is an image of my favorite tree to photograph! It is an apple tree that sits off the side of the road. No one collects it's apples but the birds. You oughta hear this tree hum with bees! I'm thrilled as I love the bees and blossoms! The owner of the property drove out when I was taking pictures and said if I get to the apples kinda early I can take as many as I'd like. But wait too long and the worms get them. Who knows..maybe I'll get a bag as my tree isn't going to produce much this year. Or maybe I'll just leave them for the birds...:)

More views of the famous North-Yorkshire landmark...............nice large :-)

As I rise up and slowly unfold, my life begins. This flower on the deck in a hanging basket with the garden behind.

"I'll wait for you...even if you never come."
