Pretty much a shock to see snow falling this time of year though as it clung onto the trees it truly was magic to hike this spring snowy trail.
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul....Darrell.

Freezing cold, only 2C and windy, and spring flowers, green grass and snow 😁😊
Everything is quite normal, this happens more or less every year 😅
I don't know why this branch always intrigues me. The way the light was at the time and the droplets of rain on the branch as it was raining (camera got completely soaked, its ok though) it had a calming vibe to it. It was also quite foggy at the time and I wasn't sure how I wanted to edit it. I knew that I wanted the photo to feel like a dark gloomy spring day, it was chilly but was mild so I felt like making the colors too cool would make it feel more like winter and wanted the earthy warm tones so this is what I came up with. You can almost feel the dampness.

Myosotis (/ˌmaɪ.əˈsoʊtɪs/ MY-ə-SOH-tiss) is a genus of flowering plants in the family Boraginaceae. The name comes from the Ancient Greek μυοσωτίς "mouse's ear", which the foliage is thought to resemble. In the northern hemisphere they are colloquially denominated forget-me-nots or scorpion grasses. The colloquial name "forget-me-not" was calqued from the German Vergissmeinnicht and first used in English in AD 1398 through King Henry IV of England. Similar names and variations are found in many languages. Myosotis alpestris is the official flower of Alaska and Dalsland, Sweden. Plants of the genus are commonly confused with Chatham Islands' forget-me-nots which belong to the related genus Myosotidium (Wikipedia)

It really doesn't feel like spring here in the upper midwest as cool temps and,yes,snow chances are in the forecast. Weather whiplash is now the norm here with spring planting around a short month away now....
Things will eventually change and scenery like this, from Winslow,Illinois's Artesian Spring Park,will become the new norm....
First trip of the year to the Kauffman Gardens. The Tulips are probably a few days away from being at peak splendor but I came away with a few new compositions. The squirrel came into frame at just the right moment on this one. I'm saving one for Easter as I had a very spiritual moment tonight. Stay tuned.
