On Saturday, the gentleman featured in these series of photos came to Raise You Up Ministries: Operation Hug and headed straight for one of the few trees in this Urban landscape. He lay down and went to sleep for a short while, until the musicians called Crystal (Praise and Worship team member at Greater Works Church) to the microphone.

She began singing "Open the Eyes of My Heart" in acapella, as the musicians started to play, this gentleman got up and headed towards the stage. As Crystal finished singing and prepared to continue serving in the Barbering Tent, this gentleman gently grabbed one the microphones, and performed a free style rap about the goodness of Jesus. When he left the stage his demeanor and spirit seemed to have been lifted and transformed. I know that mine certainly was, and I had to ask myself, how this man can praise God in his circumstance...where far to often, my praise is hindered by my self-centeredness, ingratitude, and pride.
