Thanks for taking the time to take a look at my pictures. Your views, comments, faves and support are greatly appreciated

i wish i had thought to do this earlier, before the snow started melting. sigh. but hey. proof positive that timing is key. had i been on top of it, i might have (well, maybe) focused it better.

The 4.5 mm focal length used here is the equivalent of a 25mm moderately wide angle on a 35 mm camera. It gives me focus from foreground to infinity and is my ultimate point and click setting. I think this is a Menil Roe Deer.

Thank you very much for your likes and the nice comments!

I had taken photos with the clouds moving in and out when we decided to sit for a few minutes. As we were admiring the amazing sight before us the sun broke through the clouds and shone a spotlight right on the presidents. Nothing like being in the right place at the right time.

We did a tour of the Pacific North West which included many National Parks and some other fun things. We took 4 weeks and drove 11,400+ miles (18,300+ km). Can you say exhausted?

..nothing in particular.. but looked good anyway!

This is another view from Latrigg, showing the outskirts of Keswick, Portinscale and Braithwaite, with Grisedale Pike and Eel Crag forming the backdrop.

Autumn in Melbourne is always beautiful, with many wonderful deciduous trees full of colour like this Japanese Maple, one of my favourites, which I have been visiting regularly on my walks over the last few weeks. This leaf, hanging on its own, really stood out in nature's spotlight - bright and glorious red!

The day I took this photo was a lovely and sunny day with bright blue skies, although there was a crispness in the air. I thought I'd go for a walk and take advantage of the sunny conditions, as rain arrived the day after.

A momentary spotlight of sunshine illuminates an eastbound BNSF freight leaving Crescent, Colorado, on May 11, 2001. Fully lit in the background is the snow-covered Continental Divide.

I just realised, that I didn't publish a black & white photo for quite some time. I will change that now. Besides that, this photo is a nice example for a arithmetic problem for photographers. What is the result when You add really ugly weather to a quite boring landscape ? A really cool shot. The weather up there on mt. Zeller Horn in Baden-Wuerttemberg was in fact horrible on that evening. Besides hard and cold wind it was raining again and again. But suddenly a gap in the cloud was opening on the exact right position and BAM.
