It's not easy to fill the layer with whipping cream, with the strawberries lined vertically. It was even more difficult to line the sides with almond flakes. Nevertheless, the sponge cake taste good! soft and moist!
I have been collecting these sponges from my local beach, Newport, Australia for approx. 20 years. This display is less than half the entire collection. After big storms many treasures can be found. Can you spot my little white crocheted one?

*raises arm and sniffs* Ew! I smell like gouda cheese! I really need a bath, I wander along the stoney path and come to another hut, just up the hill...
I stumble inside, tired, my feet aching and much to my chagrin, what do I spy? A BATH! Clean at last, clean at last...by god, I'll be clean at last!

Looked real enough, but not as good as the real Character Impersonators. All of these people in costume were expecting tips as a way of earning their living.
An old man selling sponges on the beach in the small island of Pserimos.
P.s. Watch in black background for a decent quality ;) !

CSX Q212 southbound on the River Sub in Newburgh NY. on 08-11-2021. These three ex CSX SD40-2's were rebuilt into SD40-3's and the railfan community affectionately gave them the nickname of "Sponge Bob" because of their squared off rebuilt cab profile looking similiar to the cartoon character Sponge Bob Square Pants. 4006 was ex CSX 8078,4227 was ex 8114,and 4036 was ex 8012. Q212 is a combo stack and rack train operating between Buffalo NY and Port Newark NJ. Howard Kent Jr.
More incredible sessile life out on the Bare Island bommie. The pale blue-green tint is due to this being a wide, long shot at depth (about 15 m). The sea water cuts the red light, and flash light can only reach the foreground.
Here is another version of my Menger Sponge Tessellation, level 2. Actually, this was the original one designed in 2014, but when I first folded it, I decided to include the inner sides, too.
I folded this one last month, in a quite strict time, to be able to send it for the upcoming Origami Universe exhibition, as my other version was at the Bridges 2016 exhibition these days in Jyväskylä, Finland.
I documented a few steps of the folding process on fb, and this time it took less than 3 weeks to complete it...
Design: Alessandro Beber, 2014
Folded in July 2016, from a 70 cm regular hexagon of dark green StarDream paper.
