A catwoman scene I whipped up this week. Its felt like a while since I've put one together, and I wanted to play around with lighting again. Also wanted to get some use out of my split diopter, and I thought this would be a perfect use for it.

Very happy with the flashlight as well. Surprisingly simple to edit it in.

I mentioned a few months ago that I was looking into different methods of deep focus for some of my shots. I randomly got the motivation a few weeks ago to order a split diopter, and it finally came in the mail today.

For the less camera savvy people, basically imagine it as a magnifying glass cut in half. It makes half the image field near-sighted, while the other half remains normal. This makes it so you can focus on two individual subjects at the same time, while maintaining a shallow depth of field. Top image was taken with the diopter, bottom without, just to fully illustrate the effect.

It seems to only work well on standard to short-telephoto focal length lenses. Definitely seems like an effect to use sparingly. The question is whether I'm even going to be able to use it for any of my scenes.

I shot this film at ISO 400 and had it push processed to ISO 3200.
