a lot of trees, branches fell down in this storm. this is the woods, nolte park.

Bark freshly splintered, probably the direct result of the thunderstorm that soaks everything in this shot.

Composition is a little off maybe, and it's a bit of a messy shot with maybe some overexposure, but I really like the colors anyways.

The aftermath of the storm that hit our humble little village.

big things fall hard, I guess.

This was on Grand Ave in Phoenix, AZ. I spotted it during the First Friday artwalk.

As Sam would say:

Darkness... Ahh...

tree down on fairbank from the storm

While walking around looking for things that were yellow, I noticed that some bamboo had been cut down. I loved the way it had splintered as if it was mounting a defense. I was looking for things yellow because I had my camera set up for black, white, and yellow and this made the spikey projections truly pop! So I spent some time wondering if this was a strange form of defense that the bamboo had developed to stop critters from eating it, or it was just happenstance as a result of the way it was cut. Either way, I thought it made for a great capture so I did my best to grab it.
