OK, strictly speaking, it is only half of the Monument Metro Station in Newcastle upon Tyne spliced onto an image of itself turned through 180°, but it does make a nice vanishing point don't you think?
Going back to the day of the first snow when I went to the Old Manse. View is of Concord River.
No, It's not spliced together by Photoshop :)

We have turned the world into gene splicing heaven
from food to vaccines
and everything in between
till our foods are tasteless
yet they look so pretty
and our vaccines are almost wasteless
so we line up like smart shoppers
buying what's on sale
no matter how pale
they make us feel
then they tell us not to complain
and to like it without giving blame
has no one heard the saying
you reap what you sow!
the seeds have been planted with care not to share
the truth of the reaping
which
will be in the weeping
of the sick and dying
waiting in line for gene splicing.
A pair of SD40Ns spliced by a GP40-2 pull LTB85 out of South St. Paul as they begin the short trip up to Roseport. I posted a shot of LTB85 at this spot last week, but figured it was worth redoing with better light. The 1610 looks pretty good despite being cycled through the SD40N overhaul program way back in 2011.

*I do not own rights to this song, entertainment purposes only* My second homework assignment, splicing together cuts without transitions. Thank you Dorian Hendrassen for being my guinea pig and having the patience of a saint. I had a blast and will remember the laughter. Radio, Dog, Sea Gull!
This is a 3/8" (10mm) wire rope sling I've kept around for over 40 years thinking it might be useful. Finally found an use!

Iowa Interstate 513, the Rock Island heritage engine, leads CBBI through Davenport, splicing the undulating bricks of 5th St. In about half a mile the train will move onto the elevated section of track for the approach to the bridge over the Mississippi, crossing into Illinois. Then it will be a slow trek through Rock Island and Moline until the train reaches Silvis yard, where this crew will do a bit of switching, then head back west with BICB.

Two BIGs spliced together with two littles and an EMD spoiler bringing up the rear. Round fuel tanks and pointy windshields are cool! It was never an easy chase between Smiths Falls and the outskirts of Toronto as the trains moved right along and circuitous roads and heavy traffic didn't help

Used when splicing together a damaged water hose. These days we are more likely to junk the old hose and replace with a new one!
I loved this moment just as the rain finally arrived and passed through the early morning light across Thailand's Phang nga bay although to be honest I've been in two minds about sharing the image. The light is without question quite beautiful but it was almost as if the light was refracting through the rain causing a fair amount of aberration which I've only been able to partially remove by reducing the saturation, that's about the extent of my knowledge!
So, that's why it's a bit more grey than my usual lot but then t'was a lovely moment of light anyway and according to Adam Gibbs, a tog I have immense admiration for, it's only about the light and nothing else. Well hopefully that'll get me off the hook this time.
Thank you for passing through :)

For the Macro Mondays group. Topic: twist. A Western Union splice is a type of splice where the two wires to be joined are wrapped in opposite directions. HMM
inspired by the movie "SPLICE", fuck that chick in the movie, i was hopin their experiment would kill her for being so damn stupid, but yeah sadly thats probably goin on in the world, creating life just to destroy it....

At some time in the timeline, scientists in their great wisdom decide it would be interesting to splice human DNA with animal DNA and see what happens. If the intent was to create new sentient beings, they were successful. If the intent was to make a sub class of semi-intelligent animal humanoids what would be willing to take orders and obey their human masters, well, they didn't succeed there. Turns out, when you play god, God has a sense of humor and says, "Well, you wanted to know what it's like to be a creator of life, now you can have fun with the consequences of their free will, and their eventual choice to rebel against their creator!"
It didn't take long, for these new breeds desired what was natural to them and fought for their own freedoms.from the bondage of humans. Some escaped into what wilderness was left on the planet while others remained in the cities, banding together to make factions among each other, and try to establish their rights in the human society around them. One such notorious group was a gang of felines that dwelt on the rooftops calling themselves Catwalkers.
As the name suggests, not only did they dwell on the rooftops, but they also claimed the catwalks they used to navigate the rooftops as their territory. This initially was due to laws in the cities that any hybrids caught on the streets would be rounded up by the local authorities. It wasn't clear what would happen, but getting locked up was bad enough. For the Catwalkers liked the freedom they could afford themselves in numbers to defend each other against the cruelties of humans. As they adapted to life on the city rooftops, they also became militant when it came to safeguarding their perceived territory. This meant keeping humans, and even other hybrids that weren't cats off their catwalks and rooftops, lest the humans dare to attack them, or other hybrids try to take over their turf. This meant brute and lethal force when necessary. Considering the sort that would dare to challenge the Catwalkers, brute and lethal force became pretty much the norm when dealing with people coming on the rooftops. The most favored way was to toss people off the edge of the rooftop. It didn't usually kill anyone, but it sure did give them plenty of time in the ER to consider if it's worth it to sneak up on the rooftops ever again. =~.^=
Spent the past hour cutting up my last roll of film for my final project. Exited to see how it all turns out after I stitch it all together.
