Verabellapiccolachiaragloria manages to take and post plenty of splendid flower pictures while combating the constain pain to almost all her/his joints caused by a heriditary disease (EDS). Her/his passion for photography deserves my greatest respect.

Arundina, or bamboo orchid (Arundina graminifolia) is a species originating in tropical Asia, extending from India, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, northern China to Indonesia and the Pacific islands. It was introduced in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica and Panama.
It is a multiperene terrestrial orchid with a reed stem, forming large masses that grow up to a height of 70 cm to 2 m.
It blooms in summer and autumn, with splendid flowers (ten at most) in succession at the end of the branches. The flowers, 5 to 8 cm in diameter, have a pink lilac hue and a white disc with a purple lip.
With only 200 plants growing in the wild in Singapore, the species is close to extinction in this country, caused in large part by the destruction of its natural habitat, namely the rainforest and mangroves.
Today it is common and abundant in Brazil, mainly on the coast of Paraná, being widely used in landscaping.

This photo is my tribute to International Women's Day, although I believe that every day should be dedicated to everyone without distinction.
However, I see some similarities between this very interesting flower and women in general, always balancing themselves in the situations of any kind. Many reach a height not proportional to the delicacy of their shape, either in their professional life or in the strength they acquire from the hard life that most of them lead...
An old church, out among the corn fields, has a photogenic cemetery, including some splendid flower beds. Here's a petunia from those beds.
Thank you for looking! Isn't God a great artist?
LA FLOR. (Pascual)
The flower
Forest trees bare their branches each fall to show off new leaves the next spring. Bears retreat to their shells to spend the winter and wake up in good weather.
Forewarning ants can still store grain in the anthill for when the snow covers everything.
And I, a simple flower, will show my simple beauty even more. Then winter will take possession of the place where I grew up and reached my splendor. By then I will be a withered flower, a brief memory for those who admired me in my happiest times.
I hope that my bulbs give rise to new plants and come back to life and be again the splendid flower that I was.
And maybe whoever photographed me the first time will discover me and do it again ...
Pascual.

Many times I have been amazed at how it is possible to faithfully reproduce the reality that surrounds us even on a game like Second Life. Thanks to creators and their skills I am appreciating more and more discover all this metaverse.
Today I present two creations by FNY. The tree (the pine) that can be used with or without snow (thank's to the HUD) and the splendid flowers that surround the gate of this splendid stone villa (backdrop created by Synnergy). Essential elements both for those who have a themed land or for those who want to make their home special.

Here is another shot from the archives. I came across this splendid flower during a visit to the extensive protea fields at Maui's Agricultural Research Station. There are so many varieties of pincushion protea I gave up long ago any attempt to identify them by type. The photo was taken in February 2016, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy and stay well!
P.S. I am still very busy in my vegetable garden. Now, I am working on carrots and potatoes.

perhaps one of the more breathtaking altars i have seen in bangkok is this magnificent one, housing a fantastic Buddha built in gold and crystal. this is also within the Wat Po temple, which houses the reclining Buddha. note the hand painted walls and ceilings and the splendid flower arrangements of lotus flowers all over!
see it LARGE

The rather splendid flowers of Siberian Iris Perry's Blue (Iris sibirica) showing themselves off in the entrance to the Piet Oudolf designed "Rivers of Grass and Floral Labyrinth" borders of Trentham Gardens estate in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

Ightham Mote is essentially a “moated” Medieval Manor House,
the oldest parts of which date back to the 13th. Century.
These parts are in the eastern wing and consist
of Sandstone blocks and a half-timbered Upper Storey.
The western wing is all stonework, and a later addition,
with drawbridge and an Entry Tower with a large clock.
The house is in four quadrants around a Quadrangle.
Further west beyond lawns and borders is a block
of terraced, half-timbered cottages that housed
servants, cooks, maids and gardeners of the estate.
The gardens are varied, mostly separated by walls.
They include splendid flower borders,
a Kitchen Garden with herbs,
vegetable and fruit garden,
a water-feature and pond.
Surrounded by mature and impressive trees.
Ightham Mote is a superb
location and a peaceful, historical
and beautiful enclave.
Sundew (Drosera auriculata)
I went back to look for the Sundew today and not only were they still doing well, they were soaked with raindrops from the big rains we’ve had in the last few days. They're very small and would easily be missed by most, but I knew where a clump of them was growing. Sundew are carnivorous plants that derive some or most of their nutrients by trapping and consuming animals such as insects or other arthropods. In New Zealand we have Drosera (sundews) - seven native species - and Utricularia (bladderworts) - three native species ❤️
