Whilst lacking the intense blue of their males, these are little stunners in their own right

Splendid sunbirds are 15cm long, and have medium-long thin down-curved bills and brush-tipped tubular tongues, both adaptations to their nectar feeding.

Interior of Iceland...my favorite photo location. If I could live in this cottage, I would . The hardiness of Icelanders is extraordinary.

If I have to live in isolation this house would seem to fit the bill.

I had started from the church at Serrières and had climbed on an adventure by a small road, which would soon become a path through a forest. I had been following the path for quite a while, and I wondered where I was going. I then met walkers coming down and asked them where the path led. "At the Grange du Bois", they answered me, about 1/4h uphill. Indeed, shortly after, I came across this magnificent, well-known landscape of the Grange du Bois: a beautiful view of the Roche de Solutré with a superb priory in front and in the background, Mâcon and the plain of the Saône. We could even see Mont-Blanc on the horizon. it was a superb reward for the climb. Now all I had to do was go back down, and I found another way for it. It was a nice circuit to finish.

Splendide paysage connu

The visit of the castle of Lourmarin is worth it. We discover there nice old rooms with beautiful furniture.

Another look at these beautiful little wrens. This one is coming into his adult plumage which will be a stunning electric blue over his entire body.

Couple of Splendid Fairy-Wrens, only the male gave me eye contact this time.

Male birds in breeding plumage shimmer in electric shades of violet-blue, turquoise and pale-blue, relieved only by a few bands of inky black feathers, males in non-breeding plumage and females are mostly drab brown, although their long tail feathers are dull-blue.

The species lives in arid and semi-arid Australia, where it inhabits shrublands and shrubby woodlands.

Sorry for another photos of poppies. In fact I love them, and they are so rare here.

I have to say that you will see many others when I upload my photos from Casteluccio di Norcia. It seems that Europe is the paradise of this flower in which the simplicity in inversely proportional to the charm.

I will be out for some days again and have disabled the possibility of comments in these photos. Thanks for your constant support and kindness!

Wish you all a wonderful weekend!
