Before descending to the Oberalppass I took this panoramic view of the beautiful Lutersee. I think the closest summits in view are the Rossbodenstock (2836m) and the Pazolastock.
A group of trees and bushes stand in an open field. They are frozen in the icy wind and their branches are covered in thick crusts of ice. As a result, they now appear almost monochrome. The mistletoe hanging from the top of one of the birch trees catches the eye all the more, even from a great distance. Almost like light from a lighthouse, it beams across the land and adds that certain something to this scene after I've been keeping an eye out.
Eine Gruppe von Bäumen und Büschen steht auf freiem Feld. Sie sind im eisigen Wind erstarrt und ihre Zweige sind von dicken Eiskrusten umhüllt. Dadurch wirken sie jetzt fast monochrom. Umso mehr fällt nun, bereits aus großer Entfernung, die Mistel ins Auge, die an der Spitze einer der Birken hängt. Fast wie das Licht eines Leuchtturmes strahlt sie über das Land und verleiht dieser Szene dieses gewisse etwas, nachdem ich Ausschau gehalten habe.

What You see here, in front of this breathtaking foggy scenery, on the right side of the frame, is something extraordinary (at least for me). It's the double peak of mt. Winterberg in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. These are two climbing rocks. So they are quite some meters high.
Because a mountain unusually has got only one peak, this alone is something special. For me the shape of the upper rock is one more thing to add. I think it is looking like a giant vase or amphora. Just like giants left it up here after a picnic.
There is something else, what I'm realising, when I'm watching that photo now. In particular how beautiful bad weather can look.
Was Ihr hier vor dieser atemberaubenden Nebelkulisse auf der rechten Seite des Bildes seht, ist etwas ausgewöhliches (zumindest für mich). Es ist die Doppelspitze vom Winterberg im Elbsandsteingebirge. Dabei handelt es sich um zwei Kletterfelsen, die also schon ein paar Meter hoch sind.
Da ein Berg im Normalfall nur eine Spitze hat, ist das allein eigentlich schon ungewöhnlich. Hinzu kommt jedoch noch die Form des oberen Felsen. Für mich sieht der so aus wie ich eine gigantische Vase oder Amphore. Als hätten Riesen diese hier nach einem Picknick stehen gelassen.
Und noch etwas fällt mir auf, wenn ich dieses Bild jetzt betrachte. Nämlich wie schön schlechtes Wetter aussehen kann.

Die Falter erreichen eine Flügelspannweite von 32 bis 45 Millimetern, die Weibchen sind häufig etwas größer als die Männchen. Sie besitzen braune bis dunkelbraune Flügel mit kleinen hell gelblich gerandeten, schwarzen und weiß gekernten Augenflecken. Die Flecken zeichnen sich bei den Weibchen deutlicher ab als bei den Männchen. Am Vorderflügel befindet sich nahe der Spitze ein solcher Fleck, der von mehreren, bindenartig angeordneten weißen Flecken flankiert wird. Auf den Hinterflügeln sitzen drei bis vier Augenflecken nebeneinander. Der Außenrand aller Flügel ist dünn, unterbrochen weiß gefärbt. Die Unterseite der Vorderflügel ist braun mit zahlreichen weißen Flecken und dem gleichen Augenfleck wie auf der Oberseite. Auf der Unterseite der Hinterflügel sind anstelle der Augenflecken dunkelbraune, stark verwaschene und hell gekernte Flecken erkennbar. Die Grundfärbung der Hinterflügelunterseiten ist ockerfarben und leicht braun marmoriert, am Außenrand ist ein violetter Schimmer gezeichnet. Auf den Hinterflügeln befinden sich auch zwei dünne, dunkelbraune, gewellte Binden.
Die Raupen werden etwa 27 Millimeter groß. Ihr Körper ist gelblichgrün und hat einen weißgerandeten, dunkelgrünen Rückenstreifen. An den Seiten haben sie helle und dunkle Linien. Die Schwanzgabel ist weißlich, der Kopf bläulichgrün.i

The moths reach a wingspan of 32 to 45 millimeters, the females are often slightly larger than the males. They have brown to dark brown wings with small eyespots with light yellow edges, black and white cores. The spots are more prominent in females than in males. There is one such spot near the tip of the forewing, which is flanked by several white spots arranged like bands. There are three to four eyespots next to each other on the hindwings. The outer edge of all wings is thin, intermittently colored white. The undersides of the forewings are brown with numerous white spots and the same eyespot as the upperside. On the underside of the hind wings, instead of the eyespots, dark brown, very faded spots with light cores can be seen. The basic coloring of the undersides of the hind wings is ocher and slightly mottled brown, with a violet shimmer on the outer edge. There are also two thin, dark brown, wavy bands on the hind wings.
The caterpillars are about 27 millimeters in size. Its body is yellowish green and has a white-edged, dark green dorsal stripe. On the sides they have light and dark lines. The tail fork is whitish, the head bluish green.

Spitze einer Glasvase
Eigentlich hatte ich heute keine Idee zu dem Thema. Mann und Tochter Silke, darum gibt es auch kein Foto von ihr, beide krank. Eine heftige Erkältung hat sie erwischt.
Ein Zufall das mein Blick auf eine kleine kugelige Glasvase fiel, die an der Öffnung in ein hochgezogenes Dreieck mündet. Zwei Fotos, eines ein wenig in Luminar bearbeitet, das heißt die hintere Rundung der Vase etwas verstärkt , fertig. so unkompliziert und schnell hatte ich noch nie für Macro Monday ein Thema fertig.

Tip of a glass vase
Actually, I had no idea about that today. Husband and daughter Silke, that's why there's no picture of them, both sick. She caught a bad cold.
A coincidence that my view fell on a small spherical glass vase, which ends in a raised triangle at the opening. Two photos, one slightly edited in Luminar, i.e. the rear rounding of the vase a little bit reinforced, finished. I never had such an uncomplicated and fast theme ready for Macro Monday.

Pointe d'un vase en verre!
En fait, je n'avais aucune idée de ça aujourd'hui. Le mari et la fille Silke, c'est pour ça qu'il n'y a pas de photo d'eux, tous les deux malades. Elle a pris un mauvais rhume.
Coïncidence, ma vue est tombée sur un petit vase sphérique en verre, qui se termine par un triangle surélevé à l'ouverture. Deux photos, dont une légèrement retouchée en Luminar, c'est-à-dire l'arrondi arrière du vase un peu renforcé, terminé. Je n'ai jamais eu un thème aussi simple et rapide prêt pour le Macro Monday.

"Neues Kranzler Eck“
60 Meter hoch ragt die gläserne Wand hinter dem altehrwürdigen Kranzler Eck auf, messerscharf schiebt sich ihre Spitze bis fast an den Kurfürstendamm. Ohne Zweifel hat Stararchitekt Helmut Jahn der City-West eine neue Sehenswürdigkeit beschert und das Einkaufsviertel, das nach der Wiedervereinigung gegenüber der neuen alten Mitte ins Hintertreffen zu geraten drohte, zumindest architektonisch effektvoll aufgepeppt.

The glass wall rises 60 meters behind the venerable "Kranzler Eck", its point razor-sharp almost to the Kurfürstendamm. Without a doubt, star architect Helmut Jahn has given City-West a new sight and at least architecturally spiced up the shopping district, which threatened to fall behind the new old center after reunification.

The valley, also known as the Langtaufers, leads from the Vinschgau municipality of Graun, located on the western shore of Lake Resia, into the Ötztal Alps. Its mountains enclose the valley, which gradually widens from the narrow entrance to the valley, on both sides. The Langtauferer Tal is considered a quiet, originally appearing high alpine valley that extends in a northeasterly direction parallel to the Austrian border. After about 10 kilometres, the head of the valley is reached at about 1,900 metres, from where majestic rock faces, white glaciers and the dozen or so 3,000-metre peaks with the Weißseespitze, the Weißkugel and the Langtauferer Spitze greet you in an easterly direction.
In early summer the whole valley is flowering meadow.
I took this photo on one of the last days on my trip to saxony 2015. This day the weather was very rainy. But on the top of the mountain "Königsstuhl" the clouds opened one big hole which filled the area with sunlight. It was just for a moment. The long way home was dark and difficult.
Das Foto entstand an einem der letzten Tag auf meinen Sächsischen Schweiz Trip 2015. An diesem Tag gab es eigentlich nur schlechtes Wetter. Doch an der Spitze des "Königsstuhl" angekommen, öffnete sich der Himmel kurz und füllte die Landschaft mit Sonnenlicht. Auf dem Rückweg war es bereits wieder dunkel und regnerisch.

The peaks in the background form 'the end' of the Austrian Kleinwalsertal: you can climb them but there are no roads leading over them into the rest of Austria. This is one of the things that makes the Kleinwalsertal unique: you can only reach it by car from Germany.
This view is from the Walmendingerhorn (1996m) towards Baad, the last village of the Kleinwalsertal. [Explored on 30/05/2022, #85]

Rechts geht der Blick auf das Kanzleramt. In der Mitte des Fotos steht die Kongresshalle von den Berliner*innen liebevoll "Schwangere Auster" genannt. Neben ihr der Glockenturm in Tiergarten. Im vorderen Hintergrund steht die Siegessäule mit der Siegesgöttin an der Spitze. In der Ferne ist der Funkturm zu sehen. Links von ihm wird eine Erderhebung sichtbar, der Teufelsberg im Grunewald. Unter dem Teufelsberg liegen aus dem 2. Weltkrieg die Trümmer von West-Berlin. Heute ist er bewaldet und ein gern besuchter Ort.

View of the pregnant oyster from the Reichtagskuppel.
On the right is the view of the Chancellery. In the middle of the photo is the Congress Hall, affectionately called the "pregnant oyster" by Berliners. Next to it is the bell tower in Tiergarten. In the front background is the Victory Column with the Goddess of Victory at the top. The Radio Tower can be seen in the distance. To its left, an elevation becomes visible, the Teufelsberg in Grunewald. Beneath the Teufelsberg lie the ruins of West-Berlin from the Second World War. Today it is forested and a popular place to visit.

Meeting Flickr friends from Switzerland
Vue sur l'huître enceinte depuis la coupole du Reichstag.
A droite, la vue donne sur la chancellerie. Au milieu de la photo se trouve la Kongresshalle, affectueusement appelée "Schwangere Auster" par les Berlinois*. A côté, le beffroi du Tiergarten. Au premier plan se trouve la colonne de la victoire avec la déesse de la victoire à son sommet. Au loin, on aperçoit la Funkturm. A sa gauche, on aperçoit une élévation du sol, le Teufelsberg dans la forêt de Grunewald. Sous le Teufelsberg se trouvent les ruines de West-Berlin datant de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Aujourd'hui, c'est un lieu boisé et très fréquenté.
