A lemonade bottle with molded graphics, a distinctive feature not often seen in glass bottles these days. The brand name appears inspired by a music style originating about a century-and-a-half ago, which inspired a number of styles including ska in the late 1950s and its late-1960s spinoff, reggae.
I saved this bottle after finishing it off during a lunch back in the pre-pandemic day. The contents, if I recall correctly, were quite good. Now that I have to watch my sugar consumption, I sadly must take a pass on something I used to drink without a second thought. :(

The first CES was held in June 1967 in New York City. It was a spinoff from the Chicago Music Show, which, until then, had served as the main event for exhibiting consumer electronics. The event had 17,500 attenders and over 100 exhibitors; the kickoff speaker was Motorola chairman Bob Galvin. In Las Vegas, the show is one of the largest (the other being CONEXPO-CON/AGG), taking up to 18 days to set up, run and break down.

It's been over four years now since I took my second big swing in the Dakotas. This trip left me a little bitter. And even today with hindsight, these photos don't leave me with a warm nostalgic feeling. After the first two days I suffered the rest of the trip with a cold. Then, two days were eaten up by poor weather. We put on a lot of useless unproductive miles those two days, creating a giant circumscribed square within the combined "Dakota". The skies were also slightly tinged with smoke from the absolutely massive and long lasting Dixie fire in California (as well as others). We saw some really cool stuff. But it's been hard to forget the negatives and muster up the enthusiasm to post any of these. Anyway, enough whining...
RRVW's Oakes job is at Milnor dropping off a cut of company hoppers with a nice pair of CATs. This is the former NP 5th Subdivision of their Saint Paul Division that split off their mainline west of Staples near Wadena, passing through Fergus Falls, Breckenridge-Wahpeton, and ending in Oakes. NP was a dominate player in southeastern North Dakota. Although SOO and GN made their own forays into this region, paralleling the NP to the south by 10 to 15 miles. BN continued operations on a rationalized system that was cut back to Breckenridge-Wahpeton, where the GN main from Wilmar to Moorhead crossed. Following the wave of Class-I spinoffs in the post-Staggers era, this line and a cluster of other former NP and GN lines were spun off in 1987, forming the Red River Valley and Western (RRVW) railroad. The RRVW has maintained a quite active base of agricultural customers on their remaining lines, with many shuttle loaders built on their system within the last 5 years or so. Large processing plants also keep them busy moving "shorts", as shown here, using their now ancient fleet of late-60s and early-70s era covered hoppers.
While following this job west, we noted chatter of the other "Valley & Western" regional working in Hankinson. About this time, we heard them give totals on their line about 10 miles to the south of us and decided to check it out. More on that in the next post...

……As we begin our second year of living with Covid-19 we have all grown accustomed to wearing Face Masks, Hand Washing and Social Distancing to name but a few. And now thankfully an additional safety feature has been provided - a Vaccine! I’m ever hopeful people will see this as an ADDITIONAL Safety benefit and not the only one!!! The spinoff benefits of them ALL are beginning to emerge like vastly reduced Flu deaths and there will be others to follow I’m sure. So this is my take on Macro Monday’s theme “Safety”. Have a great week, stay locked down and cosy to stay safe and to keep EVERYONE else safe too! A VERY BIG THANK YOU to ALL the key workers who are carrying on to benefit the rest of us - we applaud you all. Alan;-)👏👏👏👏👏

Old Missable SD9M's lug grain loads out of Malden, Indiana for CSX at Union Mills, Indiana. This old remnant of the Chesapeake and Ohio of Indiana lives on as the western arm of shortline Chesapeake and Indiana, a great little downhome railroad that hauls all kinds of unit train tonnage on their mini system of CSX spinoff rails. A big thanks to our fave birds for the information and courtesy!

Remembrance Day in Val Marie was windy and cold this year. My friend Judith and her dog Tove found a wall to use as a wind break, and while photographing the ceremony I found time to grab a few quick shots.
I considered cleaning up her jacket - removing the dog and cat hair - but decided to go with realism. Likewise I thought of cropping out that bright button near the top, but for some reason left it in.
I've been posting a lot of wildlife lately, so I thought it was time to change things up a little. Admittedly domestic animals aren't a huge reach, but stay tuned for some interesting stuff after I offer up two more pet shots from that same day.
Tove is a "rescue dog" who reportedly spent several years chained to a piece of machinery before being saved, and subsequently adopted by Judith. He has been her steadfast companion for the past seven years or more. His life is so much better now. He is one of the sweetest dogs I've known.
There is more wildlife in the queue; in fact, I've just gotten home from a long outing in the park, my second in as many days. The mule deer rut is just starting, and will go on through the first week in December. That can be exciting, and then there are "spinoff" random encounters, which can also be good. I think I have enough processing to keep me out of trouble for the next week or so...

Re watched Fury Road the other day and damn it’s gotta be one of my favourite movies! So insane! I haven’t seen any of the original ones but I plan to do so! Anyways I really focused a lot on these figs in making them as best as I possibly could! Also if you haven’t seen it I really recommend seeing it ASAP!
On to the figs...
Nux: I tried to re create his markings on his body and the torso is just a Ninjago snake body backwards! O and Darth Bader Head
Furiosa: love how she turned out! I think that the face looks a lot like her and I think I perfected the way her robotic arm came out! Big Shout to Brickiphilia for the torso, belt, arm and hairpiece!
Max: I think he looks pretty damn accurate his legs don’t match exactly but they were the closest I got!
Immortan Joe: Another shout to Brickophilia! I kinda copied his design on the armour plates but I did however add elastics and other stuff! Old Voldemort head!
Doof Warrior: love how he turned out! Lol he should definitely have his own spinoff show! Tho LOTR head, Ron sweater and Pretorian guard legs!
Please tell me your thoughts as I put a lot of time into these guys! Thanks Snowy!
In late summer, 2017, potential thunderstorms build in the humid distance and a flight (can't tell whose, but it appears to be a regional jet of some flavor) takes off from O'Hare, as Chicago Terminal Railroad's ILSX 1396 waits to shove into CP's Bensenville Yard with a cut of cars from Bensenville Industrial Park, towards the end of the crew's work day.
The 1396 is a GP10, rebuilt from IC GP9 number 9226 (originally built in 1957) by Illinois Central at their Paducah Shops in 1978(?). After serving on the IC, it had a career serving ICG-era spinoffs Gulf & Mississippi (as their number 8212), and Midsouth (as their 1075), before eventually winding up on the Puget Sound & Pacific, as their number 1002. In 2007, as part of Independent Locomotive Services' fleet, it went from Washington State to Horicon, Wisconsin for repainting for the Chicago Terminal Railroad, on which it served for almost ten years before CTM's operations were wound down in 2018. It was then returned to Independent Locomotive Services in Bethel, Minnesota in 2019, where it still resides today.

Jack is the Commander of the Queen of Hearts’ Legions and the architect of the crushing dominance of the Hearts over the other suits. She is the voice of Queen and, as symbol of status, Jack has the outstanding privilege of wielding her Majesty's most favored weapon: the Heartcrusher.
Jack is a spinoff build that arose during the update process of Maid Kana. I originally intended her to be a Nier: Automata character, but I ended up taking the original character route. In my case, this very often leads to Wonderland.
Despite my initial commitment, I think Jack lacks a proper wonderland vibe, other than color coding (red, black, etc.). She reminds me more of a Race Queen or a gacha game character than a proper Wonderland citizen. Nobody is perfect, I guess.

Inspired by the Audi Sport Quattro S1 rally car of the 1980s, Ken Block and Audi created an entirely new car for a series of Gymkhana spinoffs called Electrikhana. The “Hoonitron” was designed from the ground up to suit Block’s driving style, featuring a short wheelbase and an all-electric drivetrain with a staggering 4,425 lb-ft of instantaneous torque. Additionally, it has the ability to switch from all-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive and to spin the front and rear wheels in different directions. (Source: Petersen Automotive Museum)
The beast threw me against the wall. As I struggled to get up, he moved slowly forward.
"The day has finally come," he said, "The day when I kill the Batman."
"You've tried and failed before, what makes you think this time is any different?"
"This time I have the advantage of extra muscle. Now, before I end you, do you have any last words?"
I was silent.
"Oh well," he said, "I guess you'd rather go out silently."
The monstrosity cackled wildly as he lifted his fist and prepared to give the final blow...
Just so you guys know, this is supposed to be a prequel spinoff to the Arkham Files. This is the closest that the volume will get to Arkham Files time until near the end. However, if the series is picked up, Batman will still make appearances in the Arkham Files (in flashbacks until I determine how I want this volume to end). This means that Batman's fate isn't set in stone, and it's entirely possible that he'll die at the end (but he might not).
(Lilitu's suite.)
Trajan: The tenets were eradicated.
Lilitus: If a single one survived, that would be enough to spread their ideology, and training.
Laithi: The Cleanse was meticulous.
Lilitus: Tenets are like a virus. One cell can be sufficient to start a pandemic.
Trajan: I will not allow her to interfere in the Assembly!
Laithi: We will hunt her down and destroy her!
Lilitu: (looking Lucas up and down) That may not be necessary. She may track you, to find him.
(She strokes the side of Lucas' face, and he looks disturbed and a little turned on.)
Trajan: (smiling) When she tries to rescue him, we will destroy her.
(Cut to Ronan's office. Mateo and Sienna step inside and both freeze, staring. Camera cuts to their POV where Ronan is impeccably clad in an indigo, and gold Tom Ford Shelton mohair-silk twill suit, and Caly is clad in a red leather jumpsuit, boots, and holding gloves.)
Sienna: Oh, um --
Mateo: (whispers) ¡Dios mío!
Ronan: Sorry about the shock and awe, but she had to fit in, and be untouchable. So, she's going as my pet, Tinktink.
Caly: (sighs) Are you actually set on that name?
Ronan: Tinktink doesn't sound dangerous. And you've got the adorable little bell! (flicks a tiny bell attached to the zipper at Caly's neck, and it gives a tiny jingle) Tinkle tinkle! It's wonderful!
Sienna: I deeply need some adult supervision right now.
Mateo: Are you doing anything after we rescue Lucas? (smiles at Caly)
Sienna: (elbows Mateo) Seventeen.
Caly: Hold still. (she touches the corners of Sienna and Mateo's mouths then just behind each of their left ears)
Sienna: Is that some sort of alien greeting?
Mateo: And can we do more of it? Ow! (as Sienna elbows him again)
Caly: (pulls back her hair, showing them a tiny sparkle just behind her left ear) They are speaking and listening devices.
Sienna: Whoa! I just heard you twice!
Mateo: That is crazy! (reaches toward his mouth, but Caly blocks his hand)
Caly: Don't dislodge them. I doubt you'd be able to find them again. Take these. (she hands them each a stunner) Don't lose them. They're for self-defense only. They can kill one of my kind, when applied properly.
Ronan: I'm going to drop the two of you at a coffee shack directly across the street from the club. Just pretend you're on a coffee date. If you see a lot of extra cars pull in, together, or a bunch of people start swarming the main building, let Caly know.
Sienna: What if you can't get out?
Mateo: Yeah, we need a code word for "call the cops."
Caly: The police can't do anything to them.
Sienna: No, but he's talking cover. We call, report a couple guys trying to set fire to the curtains or whatever, and they show up.
Mateo: You tell the bad guys good bye, and walk out with a police escort.
Ronan: (to Caly) I know it's not your style, but it could work, in a pinch.
Caly: (sighs and nods) All right, if it looks like we can't get out, I'll say, "pinch me" and you call the cops.
Sienna: (smiles) Just like a CSI spinoff.
(We're back! to be continued)

The Rockwell-Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm X-31 was an experimental jet fighter designed to test fighter thrust vectoring technology.
It was designed and built by Rockwell and Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB), as part of a joint US and German Enhanced Fighter Maneuverability program to provide additional control authority in pitch and yaw, for significantly more maneuverability than most conventional fighters. An advanced flight control system provided controlled flight at high angles of attack where conventional aircraft would stall or lose control. Two aircraft were built, of which only one has survived.
The X-31 design was essentially an all-new airframe design, although it borrowed heavily on design elements and sometimes actual parts of previous production, prototype, and conceptual aircraft designs, including the British Aerospace Experimental Airplane Programme (choice of wing type with canards, plus underfuselage intake), the German TKF-90 (wing planform concepts and underfuselage intake), F/A-18 Hornet (forebody, including cockpit, ejection seat, and canopy; electrical generators), F-16 Fighting Falcon (landing gear, fuel pump, rudder pedals, nosewheel tires, and emergency power unit), F-16XL (leading-edge flap drives), V-22 Osprey (control surface actuators), Cessna Citation (main landing gear's wheels and brakes), F-20 Tigershark (hydrazine emergency air-start system, later replaced) and B-1 Lancer (spindles from its control vanes used for the canards). This was done on purpose, so that development time and risk would be reduced by using flight-qualified components. To reduce the cost of tooling for a production run of only two aircraft, Rockwell developed the "fly-away tooling" concept (perhaps the most successful spinoff of the program), whereby 15 fuselage frames were manufactured via CNC, tied together with a holding fixture, and attached to the factory floor with survey equipment. That assembly then became the tooling for the plane, which was built around it, thus "flying away" with its own tooling.
Two X-31s were built, with the first flying on October 11, 1990. Over 500 test flights were carried out between 1990 and 1995. The X-31 is a canard delta, a delta wing aircraft which uses canard foreplanes for primary pitch control, with secondary thrust-vectoring control. The canard delta had earlier been used on the Saab Viggen strike fighter, and has since become common on fighters such as the Eurofighter Typhoon, Dassault Rafale and Gripen which were all designed and flew several years before the X-31. The X-31 featured a cranked-delta wing (similar to the Saab 35 Draken and the F-16XL prototype), and fixed strakes along the aft fuselage, as well as a pair of movable computer-controlled canards to increase stability and maneuverability. There are no moveable horizontal tail surfaces, only the vertical fin with rudder. Pitch and roll are controlled by the canard with the aid of the three paddles directing the exhaust (thrust vectoring). Eventually, simulations and flight tests on one of the X-31s showed that flight would be stable without the vertical fin, because the thrust-vectoring nozzle provided sufficient yaw and pitch control.
BuNo 164585, 288 flights, the last one being in 2003. Put on Permanent Display at Deutsches Museum Flugwerft Schleissheim in Germany.

"Ma Cherie Vancity" ("My Darling Vancity") -- the title sounds very suave when you say it in French -- is the pilot episode of "That's Vancouverful!", my new timelapse photography series featuring the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This is a spinoff series to "Emerald City Infinity", my Seattle timelapse series!
The pilot episode features footage of downtown Vancouver, the Gastown steam clock, Coal Harbour Marina, Robson Square, Granville Island Public Market, Lions Gate Bridge, and Vanier Park.
I really had fun producing this one! 😍 ENJOY! 😍
Please visit my newly relaunched channel on YouTube as I venture (for the second time 😅) to build a new international community within the realm of cityscape and night-time photography.

Villainous Dick Dastardly and his snickering canine sidekick, Muttley, take their destructive antics from the roads to the skies in this spinoff of the cartoon "Wacky Races." Their mission: stop the bugle-blowing Yankee Doodle Pigeon from delivering whatever urgent messages are contained in his satchel. Besides the title duo, the other misfit members of the high-flying Vulture Squadron include the cowardly Zilly and chief designer Klunk, whose many mechanical contraptions look impressive, but are never quite able to "stop that pigeon."
Honfleur (France) - on January 20, 2015, the Pont de Normandie celebrated its 20th anniversary. At the time I was working for France 3, a public service television channel. For this anniversary, the editorial staff of France 3 had made the event the opening of its television news. In the morning, from 7 am, I had produced with my colleague and friend Gwenaelle (in the photo), a report on the economic spinoffs brought by the bridge. The subject edited and ready to be broadcast, we left the editorial office in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) to cross the Seine and find our colleagues in order to prepare the live broadcast of the midday television news. A satellite truck to ensure the link is already on site (off-camera) with Olivier, the journalist in charge of the image. Gwenaelle will go on the air, me, as backup, I have to film with the second TV camera placed (out of shot) to frame it from a different angle.
The photo was taken while we were doing connection tests with the Rouen management. We were also expecting the managing director of the Pont de Normandie, the guest of the newspaper.
To have the Pont de Normandie, star of the day, correctly in the image and in the background, and to avoid the concrete edge, Olivier placed his camera quite high. Result, Gwenaelle had to climb on a box of microphones to be well placed in the frame.
Here’s the set of spinoff minifigures that I’ve had planned since Captain America: Civil War was released…almost a month ago now holy crap. I'll be doing the showcase sometime this week, and then it’ll finally be time to get started on the X-Men Apocalypse figures!
Part of the frieze above the columns of the New York County Courthouse in lower Manhattan
The full inscription reads: "The True Administration of Justice is the Firmest Pillar of Good Government”. I merely took some liberties in the editing of that quote! 8-)
The front façade of this courthouse, at 60 Centre Street, is familiar to anyone who has watched the crime show “Law And Order” or any of its spinoffs.

We've got ourselves another DC show coming out! If only we could get movies out like this. Coming in 2016 is the Arrow/Flash spinoff 'Legends of Tomorrow'. The trailer itself was awesome and all of these characters will make appearances in the Flash finale. This group forms a team to save time and space from Vandal Savage. They are the Justice Leag-- Or uh, I mean Legends of Tomorrow!
