Canyon De Chelly, Chinle, Arizona

Spider Rock is easily the most photographed part of Arizona's Canyon de Chelly. It's quite the sight at sunset! I captured this shot as the last light of the day cast a long shadow onto the adjacent canyon wall.

Spider Outside My Window

Among the worst things one can do, is to disturb a Dark Elf Priestess in her domain.

Found this spider on its single-line multi-fold web strand. I had no idea what it was, except cool, and demanding to be photographed. Did.

Didn't take long to find it online...very common spider. Simply named Garden Spider; you can look it up.

Some of this species grow larger than a person's hand. This one was tiny, and could easily have hidden behind a pop bottle cap.

I really dislike spiders... but Maybe if I keep taking their picture I will at least get accustomed to them somewhat. Maybe!!! This one has a home above the pond water. He has a dried weed that he has decorated and appears to be quite good at catching dinner. I watched him for some time and really, as long as he doesn't make the long trek to the house, I am very content to watch him from afar! :-)

This is a lovely little female crab spider who I have named Barry (think Barry Manilow and the song Come into my Arms)

I haven't seen one for ages and I think she is a fairly late one although they do everwinter in wood and bark so can cope with the colder evenings we are getting now. I didn't notice at the time, but she seems to have one leg missing.

Anyone know what kind???

I went on a hike today, and because of this week's Flickr Friday, I was on the lookout for bugs. I found this little guy hanging around and thought it was a great opportunity to use my macro tubes. The end result was nicely creepy.

This image was taken in RAW and processed in Darktable in Linux.

She seems to have a fungus infection on two of her legs and she has an egg ball. If anyone can confirm the name please do. Body and head 18mm outspread legs 37mm. Spiders are huge this year.

Ended up being my own design sort of, seeing as I put a little bit of everything into this Spider-Gwen. She's my absolute favorite spiderperson other than Peter Parker himself, so I really wanted to put together all my favorite things about her designs and do something really cool and creative with her. I gotta say, i'm ecstatic with the outcome. I absolutely love it and hope you all do too! Til next time, stay frosty bros and broditas!
