Coffee and poetry by gentle light from an oil lamp on a frosty moonlit evening. Technical: single take, manual exposure. The 'moon' is a crescent-shaped hole cut into dark cardboard showing a white shiny card behind, separated by a gap. A flash is hand-held and fired onto the white background so that the light bounces back, through the cutout and back-lights the frost effect (see last week's shot for details) on the window. The flash has a coloured gel to get just the right colour for the moon effect. Phew, that's actually harder to describe than to do!
If I'm going to take forever to edit something, I should take it before the last day. Still, I've been out of the 52 Weeks of 2022 habit since traveling for a few weeks, and I'm glad I got back this week for our psychedelic soap bubbles challenge. I zoomed in on the edge of the bubble, and it made a swish design, so I captured that in a PIP (Picture in Picture) and then a digital glass frame.
I've been trying something different, this is my first attempt at capturing reflections using a combination of multiple exposures and camera movement; I think it worked quite well but a bit more practice is needed.

The largest flag, the goal, has three floors and is topped with a dome-shaped mushroom (Amanita Muscari). Flags combined with the rustic stone tile "trencadís. For their formal and chromatic fantasy has been suggested that the house flags evoke the story of Hansel and Gretel, the operatic version, by Engelbert Humperdinck, was represented at the Liceu in 1901, year of construction of the pavilions.

Playing around with Nik software today, never realised it had an Autochrom filter - I think it looks quite cool. © All rights reserved.
This one is a bit of an experiment - a half domed (but dirty) window that I've manipiulated and colourised.

No sign of fall around here yet! It was 89 degrees yesterday. And very little colour. I'm having to resort to pulling out shots from last year: this was taken through my front door window in November 2006! I'll have to be content with autumn leaves on Flickr!
This is the second picture of a series I made with the daughter of our friends on the pier of Scheveningen. The goal was to photograph her without her being recognizable and still having a story to tell. All pictures of the series are based on her ideas.
We explored some special effects one can create with a camera and an unusual point of view. I was lying on the floor ;) She is eleven and a very creative girl. We had a lot of fun.
Telling surreal stories no 2. (no 1 is "gaining height"). One more pictures is coming.

I've been playing with special effects again and this is my favourite result.

A volte basta aprire una porta o affacciarsi ad una terrazza per assistere ad effetti speciali.
Sometimes all it takes is opening a door or stepping onto a terrace to witness special effects.
this is a special effect that I liked best of all lasers and light shows on the secondpride, so that I can show it to you
Last week I once again visited Whiting Mills in Winsted, CT and had a great time walking the three floors in this old, restored marvelous 1900 mill building. And, of course, I was armed with one of my cameras to again document my visit. While there I met with Tyler Green, famous make up and special effects artist, and owner of TylerGreenFX Studios.. I will later follow up with a handful of interior shots of this great restored former men's hosiery building from 1900. It now houses small shops, studios, and artistic merchants selling and promoting their wares. Being that there will be quite a few photos I have turned off comments on all but one in the series, so please feel free to view, enjoy, and fave. Thanks to all!

"I wanna paint outside the lines.
Run the red lights in my mind.
Take everything one life time has to give.
I wanna stand inside a fire,
Walk blindfolded on the wire,
Every man dies but not every man lives."
