The Sancti Petri lighthouse is located on the coast of Cádiz in southern Spain. This day was special because of the color that the clouds acquired just as the sun disappeared.

With winter here I’m getting a few more deer then usual, now I make sure I have extra apples to toss out for them to munch on.

I like the way the colours of this lupin in my garden change: first they seem to be pink-yellowish with an orange top, then they change to violet with a purple top.

I like this spot just outside the village.

While visiting a friend yesterday I noticed this lovely oil painting of Barry Sheene hanging on his garage wall. He tells me his dad painted it! This is really something very special. I hope you all enjoy :)

Spay a village of less than 2000 people has a million dollar view and a special relationship with the Marksburg, it is hard to escape a view of it from anywhere in the community the castle is ingrained in every residents memory.

What could make a view of this story book castle any finer, why fireworks of course and this is exactly what happens around the middle of August in Spay as part of the land program for the “Rhein in Flammen” that takes place throughout summer.

This fireworks and music program is best enjoyed from one of the floating tour boats from Koblenz to Rudesheim but if you really want to keep your feet on dry land Spay offers a great place to take it in with the Marksburg as a backdrop.

There can be no more a Disneyesque sight in Germany than fireworks launching from behind the Marksburg high atop its cliffs with the Rhein and the little village of Spay for its witnesses.

I took this with my D750 and Tamron SP 24-70mm 2.8 G2 Lens processed in LR, PS luminosity masks and DXO Nik

The Gardens of Villa Melzi strech out along the lake shore and are harmoniously inserted into the hilly scenery of the Bellagio peninsula that divides the two branches of the

lake. Inland, the Villa, the Chapel and the orangery, today transformed into a historical museum, are splendid expression of neo-classical style and as such stated

national monument.

This architectural complex was realized between 1808 and 1810 for Francesco Melzi d'Eril (1753-1816), Duke of Lodi, Vice President of Italian Republic under Napoleon and afterwards Gran Chancellor of the Napoleonic Reign of Italy.

Francesco Melzi d'Eril relied upon the architect and decorator Giocondo Albertolli (1742-1839), an exponent of great importance in neo-classicism, asking for a villa looking sober and polished whose simples lines and volumes would emphasise the surrounding amazing countryside.

The Villa that became the Melzi's residence at the end of his political career and afterwards his summer residence until his death was decorated and furnished by some of the most famous artists of the age: as well as along with Giocondo Albertolli author of the great part of furniture and inside decorations, are to be noted the painters Andrea Appiani (1754-1817) and Giuseppe Bossi (1777-1815), Alessandro Sanquirico (1777-1849) and the sculptors Antonio Canova (1757-1822), Giambattista Comolli (1775-1830), Pompeo Marchesi (1789-1858), as well as the bronze sculptor Luigi Manfredini (1771-1840).

The English styled gardens, enriched with sculptures, was designed by the architect Luigi Canonica and by the botanist Luigi Villoresi, both responsible for the arrangement of Villa Reale park in Monza.

Through the contribution of great artists and artisans and the special concordance between them and Francesco Melzi the whole complex was shaped like a place of rare harmony and was admired, among the others, by Stendhal who described its beauty in his book "Rome, Naples, Florence" dated 1817.

WANNA KNOW WHAT I AM WEARING???

Im wearing a special LV Body Suit from Kitty Couture. Many Colors available in her fatpack!

It's just after midnight in Sydney on Sunday 17th September, 2023.

As I often do, I wander around the harbourside of Sydney town, with my Canon 5D Mk IV 'Old School' non-mirrorless camera!!

And, amazingly, I discovered that the 'James Craig' Tall Ship, was moored at Darling Harbour. And, even better, someone had left the lights on that illuminate the masts and rigging. Perfect.

So I climbed the 'Strictly No Access' fire stairs of the Sydney Maritme Museum (Wharf 7) to get a high-angle perspective of the 'James Craig' and the city beyond.

And then I walked around to the Jones Bay Wharf to get some "after midnight" shots of the harbour bridge! All in a night's work.

My Canon EOS 5D Mk IV with the Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L lens.

I was lucky to walk in Haukilahti beach in South Espoo when sun rays penetrated through the clouds and created this special light.

Early one evening, I went out on the deck with a glass of wine. I felt someone was watching me and there he was! My husband passed out my tripod and I was able to sit in my chair, drink my wine and wait for the setting sun to work its way through the trees. Best Happy Hour ever!

At our first get-together with our new neighbours, we received a pen each which Simon had crafted.

I'm posting for Saturday Self-Challenge: crossed

The pens are photographed on a cushion cover hand-sewed by Clare from patchwork pieces on a visit to us.
