Found these super cute airplanes made out of spark plugs while shopping in the markets in Mazatlan. The old man who makes them was so sweet. Had to take one home with me :)

It's gettin' sparky out there! From last night out at Pawnee National Grassland. We finally got a storm out there that was safe enough to go photo!
Image notes: the "M" strike on right was from one exposure/bolt, and the others on the left were from subsequent 30 second shots that managed to catch a bolt. All taken from in the safety of my car. Bit like fishin' really.

Does anyone know the breed?

Simple enough to do this but it has to be done to show off this great place for light painting. I'll be back with a camera rotation tool sometime soon.... Thanks again Matt for showing us this place!

Due to heavier trains being moved on the Hagersville, CN has assigned a C44-9W to work with the GP40's on the night train.

I don't really know that his name is Sparky, but I like alliteration. :)
I have seen this pair twice on the trail. Sparky is not young, but man does he move it. He might even be in Richard's elite class for all I know. Nah. Couldn't be that good.
A little later, around the bend, Sparky let Spaniel cool off in the water. I passed them by, and then then passed me by again, for I must needs walk slowly. V e r y s l o w l y.

Male American Kestrel (Falco sparverius) SE sector, Thomson Marsh, Kelowna, BC. Can't be sure if this is the same fella I photographed back in the Spring, but will certainly be watching/hoping for recurring visits. BTW, saw Kessie yesterday in one of her usual perches at the north end of my beat.... You know what I'm thinkin?
