Puzzled by this taken last night. Not sure it is noctilucent cloud or SpaceX-8 trail...any ideas? Rare pic either way!

Some shots from the pad of the 5:04pm (ET) Wednesday (June 8) SpaceX Falcon launch of the Nilesat 301 satellite. These images were captured with sound-activated cameras placed less than 900-feet from the rocket.
The first image is full of fury, not just from the rocket; in particular, it shows the rather active storm heading toward the Space Coast from the southwest. In the end, the storm didn't stop the countdown clock, and the rocket launched at the very start of the launch wondow.
The second image is a 30-second exposure, with guest appearances by the Sun in the western sky and the pad sound system peeking in from the right.
It's been rare of late that I've been able to set remote cameras, so this was a real treat. It had been so long that I even had to clean cobwebs off one of my lenses. I was a bit rusty, but everything worked out well enough. And, big thanks to Richard Angle for grabbing my gear from the pad this (Thursday) morning.
2021 A Space Odyssey: I am living in science fact, but it resembles science fiction from just a few decades ago! SpaceX Cargo Dragon leaving us last week with music that the unique Stanley Kubrick turned into an iconic soundtrack for space.

GMT189 Spx22 Departure for PUB
A cloudy day in Vero Beach Florida, 70 miles south of Cape Canaveral. The clouds didn't offer a great view of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket as it lifted 4 people aboard a Crew Dragon into orbit for a rendezvous with the International Space Station. The rockets flaming tail can be seen just above the pier in the distance. The estimated cost for the launch was $52,000,000. The estimated price tag for paying private customers was $54,000,000. A prestige flight for the filthy rich who apparently stay on the ISS for free under the guise of doing experiments. A fair number of people showed up in Vero Beach to watch.
More launch pics: SpaceX photographer Ashish Sharma's images are always great, from spacesuit portraits to rocket launches!

The rocket shed pieces of something (see the bright dot at the bottom of the contrail at its widest part). No idea what was dropping off, but it was interesting.

NASA and SpaceX target 3:27 a.m. EDT Saturday, August 26, for the launch of the Crew-7 mission from Florida's Kennedy Space Center with a team of international astronauts from four different space agencies
NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli, European Space Agency astronaut Andreas Mogensen, along with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Satoshi Furukawa and Roscosmos cosmonaut Konstantin Borisov will liftoff aboard SpaceX's Crew Dragon Endurance spacecraft from pad 39A for a six-month mission to the International Space Station.
This will mark the first time an astronaut from the European Space Agency will pilot a Crew Dragon

Well after a five minute delay the Falcon 9 lifted off from the Cape. Initially I did not think I captured all of the trail due to the clouds. But it came out better than I thought. This was from Sebastian on a pier further north than the last one. Enjoy All!! #SpaceX #Falcon9 #launch #NASA
A good day to take our spacecraft for a spin! Just a short trip around the block, to re-dock to the zenith Space Station port and free up the forward parking spot for upcoming spacecraft, yes, there’s a lot of traffic up here! It felt good to put on our spacesuits and leave the International Space Station… just for a little while, it’s not time to go home just yet. 😃

The sun rises behind SpaceX 7 on the launch pad the morning of it's ill-fated flight when the payload blew up shortly after separating from the booster rocket
Weather? Other than a slight delay, the weather wasn't a problem at all for the #SpaceX #Telstar18V #Falcon9 launch from LC-40 at 45th Space Wing at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla..
I decided to try for a different shot tonight, something closer to home and wound up in Satellite Beach, Florida for a lovely view of the launch, seen here in a 5-minute exposure. Note the main engine cut off ("MECO"), the break in the streak. I did turn the camera toward the east to see if I could catch the landing burns, but I don't think I have anything usable in that frame.

We tried on our spacesuits one last time to check that everything still fits! There’s an urban legend of an astronaut who worked out so much on ISS that he didn’t fit in his spacesuit (or in his custom-moulded) seat for return… it’s not going to be me… I hope 💪. As getting into the spacesuits is not easy, and maybe because it will be one of the last times we are weightless for a long time the pictures came out fun.

Had a much better photo but this fishermans' head light total washed it out. :-) #SpaceX, #SpaceCoast, #night, #launch, #pier, #AV8RTV, #TVPHOTOG, #Scruggs, #Cocoa Beach.
A recent Launch from Space X. This was the Falcon 9 Block 5 launching the One Web satallite. This was taken from the launch gantry. A very exciting day this turned out to be.
.
L-5: In Baikonur the crew is not supposed to see their rocket before launch, but this is a tradition we don’t have here! We were lucky enough to arrive at NASA's Kennedy Space Center the exact time the rocket was erected into the vertical position on the launch pad. Always impressive to see it from up close... impressive enough for our crew to snap lots of photos and selfies!

Liftoff!!
At 11:12am (ET) Saturday (7/1), the ESA Euclid mission began its million mile journey atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
