In motion!
Powered by a PF-M motor which gets its power from a LEGO train-transformer hidden in the seperate structure to the left.
See it live at TSL in Berlin from the 18th of June till the 21st of June!
The wheel and the suportng structure is mounted not in the usual 90° fashion that the studs would dictate, but a bit slanted to escape the 90° pattern!
WIP on space station model. This is just a test to check proportions, etc of the model. Central hub contains a rotating space dock on one side, and the reactor systems in the other. The outer wheels will be 2 decks deep rotating at about 2-3 rpm, but I'll have to work that out later for animations. The dock counter rotates to allow easy docking (the collar can extend 30 feet or so), and the larger hangar can be pressurised for construction work.
This is meant to be a permanent station, not something for 5-10 years then burnt up. Each arm is designed in 2 parts, each of which will fit in a current shuttle payload bay. The central section would need a heavy lift vehicle or lots of assembly, not sure which I will go for yet. The outer rings could be 8 inflatable sections which are then plated or coated and then fitted out. Total station is about 70 meters across right now, which could mean a crew of 50+ easily with resupply.

My grandson found out what it would be like if he were a hamster. Here he is spinning around a spacewheel at the Kalamazoo AirZoo. He was strapped to a back board and had to use his feet to propel himself around the wheel. It was harder than it looked but he was quite successful at it. He was able to go all the way around the wheel both frontwards and backwards.

It's a "Star Base": a moon base in space.
WIP on the space station. The Palamino is shown for scale, docked nose first into the docking port below the main hangar.
I've redesigned the station to make it fit more with the Palamino ships design ethic. The ribbed/brass area around the exterior of the rings is the radiator for the reactor systems. What do you think, proceed along these lines or something else entirely?

Our photo of the month is the Space Wheels. Originally built and owned by the Volare Brothers, it debuted in 1958. It ran for many years with the famous Royal American Shows and was recently purchased by Gold Medal Shows. See it in action here: youtu.be/-W5Hk5WJuBo .
He did this blindfold as well.
