After the David Bowie / Brian Eno song of the same name. The title seems to fit nicely.
Getting back into the mannequins again after giving them a rest for a bit.

An organic craft of some kind, seen through Hubble, and clearly there are bananas in the universe - or I'm going it :-)
Spaced-out space silk :-)
Web silk shot with my cheap Yongnuo 50mm lens - I didn't expect much from the resolution at f1.8, however I was quite taken by the results, despite the lack of 'silk-sharp' acuity. The large area of lens flare on this shot prompted me back to thinking about planets and space, so I added an extra lens flare effect from PS, plus a scattering of star dust. Just a bit of playtime tinkering on a cool wet day here in the UK
We planned a space alien pinup shoot, but Alisha wanted to work in some shots with her bedazzled sword. I'm glad she did, as it looked pretty darn cool.

A fun edit from my photo session with Alisha. Edited in Exposure X6 and Affinity Photo, with additional processing in the G'MIC plugin, which was just made available for AP.

George with a blue power crystal.
She is determined to find the secret cache of blue power crystals....
This one took a little more work, but I'm happy with the end result.

All pilots are thought at cadet-school how to repair their own craft, but it is so much more fun to have the dimwitted Factory drones do it, while the men stand by giving them impossible orders and all laughing franticly because of their slowness and the confusion when they can´t cooperate in an effective manner!
poor bots!

Apollo 11 landed on the moon July 20, 1969. The lunar module craft carried both Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, Jr. The lunar module was named Eagle, and the command module, piloted by Michael Collins was named Columbia, from the constellation Columba, meaning dove which is the international symbol for peace. By landing the first humans on the surface of the moon, the ambitious goals of the Apollo project had been met. Eight years earlier President John F. Kennedy first announced the ideas of the Apollo project in a speech at Rice Univeristy, and in that speech he projected that hopes of the program would be realized before the decade ran out. Apollo succeeded in so many ways, including meeting its main objective by landing two astronauts on the moon during the 1960's, and bringing the crew of three back home safely.
After Apollo had met its objectives and made several successful landings, the next phase in exploration would be the shuttle program. On April 12, 1981 the space shuttle Columbia made its maiden orbital space flight. Officially known as the Space Transportaion System (STS), the innaugural flight took place at precisely 7:00 am EST. The Space Shuttle program officially ended one week ago, August 31, 2011, after completing many very important scientific endeavors as well construction and visits to the International Space Station.

A custom motorcycle design concept driven by space travel iconography in the classic sense. This DP is an ode to the pinnacle of the American space race, borrowing from the vast cache of NASA technology, materials, textures, and above all, the power and boundless spirit to explore the outer limits.
This week's hmam theme is spaces. I had a crazy day at work and all my ideas involved shooting away from the office. As I was leaving work to pick up the kids I noticed this funny little back space by our parking lot I'd never really noticed before. It's definitely some kind of space.
This split picture shows what a Night Sky Mural looks like in both the light and also in the dark. In the light, the murals are virtually invisible. In the dark, the ceiling seems to have disappeared, leaving a star-filled night sky in its place.
This picture is of a ceiling in a game room in Amarillo Texas, when the lights are on. This ceiling goes from about 20 to 25 feet up in the air... and may look small in this picture but, it is massive!
Be sure to look at the picture of this same ceiling in the dark.
This theater room had a curved ceiling with beams that were flush at the ends of each cross piece, but had about 18 inches of clearance in the middle. With the night sky painted on the entire ceiling, the beams created an added illusion of the 3D look that already is in the mural. When you walk around in the room, you see that the beams are stationary, but the sky over it move as you do. It creates a great look. - www.NightSkyMurals.com
