This Orlan DMA Russian Extravehicular activity spacesuit was made in 1987 by Zvezda for use by the Russian Space agency and was in use for over 15 years. Astronauts/ Cosmonauts need protection and life support systems if they go outside their spacecraft. This suit is the forerunner of the suit that will be used on the International Space Station.
