This is my Cosmic rose in its original colour, dressed up for April with a rainy "windshield" texture by dotlizard (thanks a lot for letting me use it!).
Nevertheless it has been a springlike and sunshiny week here in Berlin so far and I hope you are enjoying the same, wherever you are...and it's only one more day until the weekend...
A beautiful Thursday to you and thanks for all your wonderful comments and support - they are most appreciated!
It's a macro of an icicle taken at the end of the day. All natural, no photoshop !
Il s'agit d'une photo macro d'un glaçon prise à la lumière de la fin de journée.
Pas de photoshop, tout est naturel!
It' like a galaxy!

composite and mirrored image. The light effect was from a ring light. I liked the other worldly spacy scifi effect. Happy Sliders Sunday
and there's nothing I can do.....words courtesy of another soul taking a little time out David Bowie.

In the centre of Oslo, Norway, there’s a well-known astronaut sculpture that often surprises visitors — a life-sized figure of an astronaut standing by the Spikersuppa Fountain, right in the heart of the city. It’s become a quirky and memorable public art piece that locals and tourists enjoy spotting, especially when the fountain is turned into an ice-skating rink in winter.
The Viaducts, Castlefield, Manchester
Possibly the last in this mini-series from Castlefield. I think I’ve pushed my luck with posting four so far considering I only took eight images around the viaducts themselves. This last one is a bit of an odd-ball in terms of graffiti artwork. The spaceman is in fact a stuck-on poster which dates back to the start of Covid and the first lockdown so Eddie informs me. It used to be the only “art piece” on this particular stanchion but nothing lasts for ever!
I think had this been a Banksy then someone would have come along at night and cut the thing out with an oxy-acetylene cutter and brought the whole viaduct down, so we really should be grateful for small mercies.
I hope you're wondering what it is.....
....it was taken in Toledo, Espana and was shot between two escalators at night!
It's wonderful how such an odd image could be taken in such a banal location
What came from outer space ?
Tom.
Major Tom.
He took too much protein pills and he's floating in a most peculiar way and, yes, the stars look different today...

...me fascina Bowie...
We passed upon the stair, we spoke of was and when
Although I wasn't there, he said I was his friend
Which came as some surprise I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone, a long long time ago
Oh no, not me
I never lost control
You're face to face
With The Man Who Sold The World
I laughed and shook his hand, and made my way back home
I searched for form and land, for years and years I roamed
I gazed a gazley stare at all the millions here
We must have died along, a long long time ago
Who knows? not me
We never lost control
You're face to face
With the Man who Sold the World

I learnt 3 things whilst doing this shoot:
1) Always go for your original plan, don't outsmart your imagination
2) Never apologise for your creativity
3) Tiny dogs can bark the loudest
Listened to David Bowies 'Space Oddity' whilst heading to the location and it heavily inspired the idea and title.
