"My mission is over
and I'm still late.
Uncertain I still stand
on the bridge that your gaze builds on me.
You ask to follow my shadow
that disappears into the light
like the sword in its scabbard.
The road is endless.
The road is difficult and it is bare
like a hand that never caressed
and who never forgives.
The road that leads to me is within you.
Bend down deep, very deep inside you
so that you all bend in a bow
to sling the arrow in silence.
There shines my light that you love,
your own light,
the light of the whole world."
"The stranger XV", Giannis Ritsos

This is a beautiful rendition of the Montagna Spaccata in Gaeta Italy.
"According to local stories, God was so distraught at the crucifixion of Christ that he made the earth shake and let out a lightning bolt which created three giant cracks in this mountain. The Sanctuary of Santissima Trinita, or Holy Trinity, was built during the 11th century by the Benedictine monks to honor this event." - excerpt from an article I read online.
There is great attention to detail at this sim. The street signs point to nearby towns close enough to Gaeta to be believable. The sea grotto feels like there is a divine presence. I'd suggest everyone visit this location and marvel in the beauty of the mountain first hand.

“[...] In each of us lie good and bad, light and dark, art and pain, choice and regret, cruelty and sacrifice. We’re each of us our own chiaroscuro, our own bit of illusion fighting to emerge into something solid, something real. We’ve got to forgive ourselves that. I must remember to forgive myself. Because there is a lot of grey to work with. No one can live in the light all the time.”

Exactly that feeling... ♫ Chptrs - The Light ✨
I saw you standing there, with an open heart
And with opens arms, you welcomed me
I heard you speak my name
With thunder and lightning
Pierced through the shadows
As you welcomed me
In the dark of the night
Follow the light, come back home

La Montagna Spaccata is now CLOSED and it's bittersweet.
just wanted to say THANK YOU!! i never thought one random photo would generate so much attention. started as just a place we enjoyed to a small area that really did no justice to the real thing. but i tried my best to capture with some serious support and encouragement from him. but it was an honor to see so many amazing photographers capture moments through their perspective. the moods, the vibes, speechless. ♡♡♡

Italian sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro bronze Sphere within Sphere (1982, with a diameter of 200 cm) by Trinity College in Dublin (Ireland).
We have read a number of interpretations of this work such as "the inner ball represents the Earth and outer ball represents Christianity, thus representing that Christianity (or religion) is bigger than the Earth" and "the fractured surface of the outer sphere reveals a very complex inner sphere that represents the harsh difficulties that the modern world finds itself in at the end of the second millennium".

The result unforeseen by the assassins was that Caesar's death precipitated the end of the Roman Republic.

According to Roman mythology, the Palatine Hill was the location of the cave, known as the Lupercal, where Romulus and Remus were found by the she-wolf Lupa that kept them alive.
After a long days work, I went for a drive, my camera at my side as always. I couldn't go too far lack of petrol & finances. So I stopped at the nearby town of Gaeta in a place called (Montagna Spaccata) which is up a little higher than ground level. From there you can see all of the residential new part of Gaeta, from both sides, A truly spectacular sight. So I decided to try a panorama. The two very brilliant white stars, up in the left hand corner of the frame are actually Jupiter and Venus. What a wonderful sight, A real turn out, just for me...!
