Southern Pacific GE AC4400CW No. 201 rests on the pass-through track from the turntable as a shop employee walks between the two roundhouse buildings at the locomotive facility of Wisconsin Central’s Shops Yard in North Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on January 27, 1996.

A Southern Pacific westbound container train passing the coaling tower at Mescal on October 6, 1994. The SD40M-2 leading was originally an SCL SD45. Not at all complaining about this train at all but it was difficult to get what you wanted on the SP during this era. On this day alone, I shot an eastbound here at the coaling tower that had a decent SP leader bu had a CSX U-boat second out. Not what this easterner was looking for. Another westbound had typical SP ratty power and another had that as well being a full train of empty trailers, .

Nature reserve Zwanenwater near Callantsoog, North Holland, Netherlands;

One of now only 4 remaining patched SP AC44s on the roster, UP 6378 takes the Formosa plastics manifest, MEWFO-01, south along the East Belt Sub in Houston's East End on a perfect April Fool's Day afternoon.

No jokes here, needless to say. In fact, I had no idea this unit was even in the area until it popped around the corner! After being unable to shoot much of anything for over a month, this was very much a welcome surprise.

Uma planta rara da Mata Atlântica brasileira

"Griffinia is a genus of Brazilian plants in the Amaryllis family, subfamily Amaryllidoideae.[5] It includes 21 known species which are endemic to Brazil in South America. The most closely related genus to it is the monotypic Worsleya.

The members of the genus Griffinia are tropical, bulbous plants which grow in high levels of humidity. The leaves are green, petiolate, elliptical, sometimes with white speckles on them. The flowers are typical for the tribe - lilac or blue colored (although there are also white - colored species) and collected into an umbel. Many of the members in this genus are endangered because of the deforestation of their habitat."

The only opportunity that I had to shoot Southern Pacific's short lived fuel tender, the SP #700 was at the W. Colton fuel rack. Seen here next to a trio of visiting Union Pacific SD40-2's in January of 1987.

Back in 2018 when Butler saw more traffic, a loaded sand train with a patched SP AC44 gets ready to depart Butler, while a manifest with an NS C40-8W works Butler.

The NS Dash 8 is probably a pile of razor blades and the SP AC44 is probably painted in UP by now.

The first Southern Pacific engine painted in the SPSF merger scheme, SD45R #7551 leads the Eastbound LAMFF up Beaumont Pass on Aug. 24th, 1985.

This was also the only SP engine and one of only two (Santa Fe #5394 was the other) to wear the white initials.
