View of the rear heater bypass valve and associated plumbing on the Astro after we put the van up on a ramp to try and find the leak. After refilling the coolant and letting the van heat up, Lisa reports that the leak appears to be coming from the rubber hose connection on the left center of this photograph. If this proves to be the case, we're very lucky, as this should be much easier to replace than any of the other parts in this area. The reason the small leak here produced so much steam was that it was dripping directly onto the exhaust system, flashing the liquid to steam on a sub-freezing Nevada night and making a rather spectacular show.
