LET'S FACE THE MUSIC AND DANCE – DIANA KRALL
Time is a beautiful illusion
it cannot be quantified
as I sweep away last year's patterns
a residue resides
a little broken fading mosaic
veined with cracks and studded with tears
so small and fragile, I lift it up
and clasp it to my heartfelt fears
it's difficult to let the old ways go
it's hard to step into the new
but it's important to preserve sweet memories
and leave behind those that made me feel blue
Spring is a time for gentle renewal
moving on with life and regrowth
static is a negative charge of apathy
forward motion a positive oath
Softly I whisper my daily mantra
today is the first day of the rest of my life
and knowing this brings me succour and comfort
to my once ailing heart that was wrought with strife
ring out the bells; new change is here
there's a spring in my step; there's no room for fear
for today I begin an exciting new time
making new memories for this soft heart of mine
I put down the tiny fragment that represents broken dreams
cushioned in velvet; swaddled in reams
there it can't hurt me; I go forward; feel free
to walk in the sunlight; the shadows behind me.

Green lung of the Dunkirk region with its 33 hectares, the park of Fort Louis is located on the site of an old military fort built by Vauban, which you can still see the front door, and the moat.
A real transformation is underway with the chopping down of nearly 70% of poplars that adorn the park. They threaten to collapse and will be replaced by new species: hornbeam, ash, birch and also shrubs.

she looks at you. the gaze is direct, calm, an open question. the light is soft, it holds no secrets. but there is a secret, a small, white comma in her ear. she is here, in this moment with you, but she is also somewhere else, listening to a silent soundtrack that you cannot hear. it is the portrait of a modern soul: present and absent, all at once.
The worst part about having a big heart, is when you get hurt, it hurts so much more, but I know I can't stop loving.

Somewhere, through the frozen fields,
Somewhere, beneath your pale and tender skin,
Lies a house, absorbing fear and pain -
Solar, Red, Contained -
And feeding on my dreams.
Somewhere cold, inside the optic wire,
Down where fingers and semen crack and bleed -
There I will be, with my arms spread out and broken,
Waiting for your breath, to animate my veins.
We're not alone: All our thoughts are numbered -
Malignant and cold, animal and hungry.
But I will contain all that ever was or will be,
Then I'll watch my skin erupt, in a symphony of flames -
Screaming out your name, screaming out your name...
Why can't I hide inside your halleable, electric face?
You'd suck away the pain, and swallow down my sickest dreams.
Now my body feels like snow, spilling out the shattered screen -
Where will we be then, when all the fear and blood are gone,
Drained into one hundred million open children's mouths -
Screaming out your name,
Screaming out your name...

You're the colour,
you're the movement and the spin.
Never
Could it stay with me the whole day long
Fail with consequence, lose with eloquence
and smile.
I'm not in this movie

Never
Leave me paralyzed, love.
Leave me hypnotized, love.

Week 20
(Teleidoscope - Week #17 "Mythology")
So I said a couple weeks back that I had created a couple images for a Theory of Knowlegde project that describe language through the medium of music and tie those interpretations of the songs to a visual aid. I choose to display my own pictures, with the songs that inspired them. I loved being able to show my pictures and add the soundtrack to it while looking at them, but my favorite part was seeing others share their favorite songs and they're personal connection with each song.
This image was based on my good friend Serena's project :) Serena is one of the most original, open minded, free spirited, wanderlust filled, artistic, and just plain whimsical people I know. Her music project reflected exactly that, with her description and interpretation of the song "Float On" by Modest Mouse being my favorite. She said it reminded her of jellyfish, and how they just float along and let the water push them without care. The song reminds her that in tough times, everything will be ok and we'll continue to float on. I've included her music choices below :)
Frederic Chopin - Nocturne In E Flat Major, Op.9 No.2
~~~~~~~~
I also chose to do this image for the Teleidescope theme of "Mythology" because Medusa is another word for jellyfish, and they are scientifically catigorized in the Subphylum Medusozoa :)
by all time low :)
i made this on picnik and yepp, i have become...*cough* obsessed with all time low (again). i kinda forgot how sexy alex was and how good their music is XD sooo, ive been listening to them non stop for a while.... :) and me and my friend both agreed that we wanna go to a concert really REALLY badly. but that is probably neeeevver gonna happen (because of our parents. and of the fact that we're only 13 and "those concerts get intense" pfff.).
