The Sambar ( or Sambar Deer ) is Asia's largest deer species.
The hairless area on the lower throat is called "the sore spot", and is apparently unique to this deer species.

CP 118 with CP 7023 dressed in its Royal Canadian Air Force livery rolls east through Bowmanville. The late day sun dancing in and out of the clouds was nice enough to clear briefly for the train.

This evening I went up to Whitecroft Falls on McGillivray Creek and got some quite wet feet. The walk and water and light and sounds always help to focus my thinking when working through difficult questions. I came away with very wet feet, a sore back from precarious footholds, good memories, and more clear thoughts.
That afternoon when hanging out with friends, I see the beautiful scenery on the 2nd floor campus. Take advantage of the best possible moment.

Tough to miss. Random parking lot I walked on to. Good thing it's early and there's no one there to yell at me.
Of course it is not an eye sore to me, but it is surprising that the owner of the nice house on the property would leave this in front as the first thing people see.
It was an odd building with many windows on the side and that kind of a hinged door.
