The smaller the fungi gets, the more interesting it is! We're down to a few mm across here, nestling amongst the emerald-green moss. #sonningcommon #ukwoods #oxfordshire #uk #woodlands #mushroom #toadstools #fungus #fungi #fungusamongus #groovy_shrooms #mushroomspotting #mushroomsociety #fungifreak #mycology #macro #irox_macro #instanaturelover #most_deserving #photowall #_all_shots #uk_photooftheday #dofaddicts #extensiontubes #markmakingdesign #greenfriday
This garage still stands in the present day but only as a hand car wash. The earliest Streetview shot shows the place looking pretty abandoned but before the dreaded hand car wash took over. With no later photos than this I wonder if it lasted much longer at all and if it ever got rebranded to Butler before the pumps were taken out. Lots of nice bright primary colours here with the red Mini and yellow van as well as all the blue and red of Fina. www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.5143388,-0.9864541,3a,75y,168.9...

Another glorious sunrise, this morning, the sun clear of cloud but with lines of cloud in the sky for the sun to light up. Took several shots, with different exposures so that I could pick the best one later — actually the first shot taken. Love the sunrises and sunsets around the Winter Solstice — the light a week or so either side of the Solstice seems to take on a particularly beautiful form, there's nothing quite like it.

Finley found a piece of charred wood in the forest and did with it what any self-respecting 10-yr-old would do. Made a big, fat mess...
Sedegehill Spring is a natural spring in woodland on Shiplake Hill near the village of Sonning Common in south Oxfordshire. The brick structure, featuring a stone carving of an elephant, was built in the mid 19th century and restored during the 1960's.
