This is a painting I did last week with my Mom! We had an "inspiration picture" to paint from. It is always wonderful to paint with Mom, and I was fairly pleased with the results! :)

#Day18

A rainy day here and I got a crazy idea while Ken was napping. Gave an old rattan chair "new life" with a burst of insane creativity! and it went faster than I expected - Ken had a fun surprize when he woke and came down to see it!

This top photo is the finished product- other stages below! :)

(Day 10: 30 Day Photo Challenge - Something You Made)

I made this set of octagonal stacking boxes from a kit from Japan. It is made of paper, paperboard, foam rubber, and glue.

January photo Challenge

I know this might be silly, but I don't really make stuff. I make food, but I am not a crafty person. And I don't tend to love "crafty" stuff unless it is modern or jewelry. Not sure how to word that, but I got into the whole scrapbooking thing for about a second before realizing it was soo not me.

So. The extent of what I make is cards from my photos, food and one of the coolest kids I have ever met. And the hubby totally helped in the making of that last one, so he needs some major credit : )

Facial injury from prolonged exposure to burning material, note the pitting in the centre of the cheek.

Hey, everyone needs a hobby...

#janphotoaday #somethingyoumade #jan25 Today has been a very productive day, but required too much labor to document every step of the way. We officially have a place to live in Brisbane- which was offered to us yesterday afternoon and we accepted last night after one final meeting with one of the other people who had offered us a place to live. We decided to stay in #thisoldqueenslander that I've shared several images of already. Our host let me completely rearrange the furniture in our room for better Feng Shui and productivity for working from home. The only thing our room was still missing, was a set of drawers. So, after a trip under the house yesterday, I actually found a set of drawers that were old and dirty but in decent shape. I wasn't sure I they'd fit, but I cleaned them up and made what was old an dirty, clean and new again. It fits perfectly in our room and I've even found plenty of things to pile on top of it already (evidence in photo). We also moved a very large and heavy couch from the living room to under the house and replaced it with one that our host had intended for the living room- but was waiting in a different location. So- I made a lot if progress on making #thisoldqueenslander feel more like home- but this is the only photo I have to show for it. ;-) #brisbane #photoaday

I admit it: when it comes to creating stuff by hand, I absolutely stink at it. For some reason, I am a better drawer on the computer.

I made this iPod lookalike in one of my graphic design classes. Made with Adobe Illustrator, photo taken by iPhone.

I made this. It is a miniature rustic styled chair.

Pics for the new photogamer group. Today's challenge:

to take photos of the following items:

1. small dog

2. reflection

3. phone (not a cell phone!)

4. stranger wearing a hat

5. something you made

I already have a bunch of tiki gear, but I had to buy a pair of these Tiki Farm oversized shotglass when I saw them tonight. They say "gulp" on the back top, but you can't see that here.

I invented a new drink with materials on hand:

Tiki Gulp (makes 3 or 4)

1 1/2 oz Mount Gay Special Reserve (i.e., light rum)

1 1/2 oz Appleton 12 year (i.e., dark rum)

1 1/2 oz Triple Sec

1/2 oz Grand Marnier

4 1/2 oz fresh squeezed pineapple juice

1 oz coconut torani syrup

dash of grenadine

pinch of sugar

shake with a few ice cubes, divide in two, serve straight

Photo A Day: December 16

This is a cutout ornament I made in class in 2nd grade (I won't say what year; I'll let you figure that out!). It always hung on our family's Christmas tree, and when I moved out, I took it! Now it hangs at the bottom of my Christmas tree every year.

Ok, God gets most of the credit for making her, but you can't tell me I didn't have a hand in it!

Added to Monthly Scavenger Hunt March 2006 - no. 4 Something you made.

Something you made/built yourself: i poured every ounce of my heart into this... an acrylic painting for a pal, whom I couldn't conjure a sufficient gift for.

This is for the Photogamer challenge for 2/18/07. For the fun of it, I limited myself to black and white photos taken by my phone, since I hardly ever use my phone for taking pictures.

I've posted pictures of this wallet before, back when it was brand new.

I'm submitting this for the "reflection" requirement, but since the photo of a reflection that I took a photo of so that you could see my reflection (confused yet?) is also mine, I suppose this could also count as "something I made."

dawn is making some nifty things with sculpey these days, and she gave me a clump to make something with.

I assumed (self preservation) that since it was unspecified *when* we made this thing, that it didn't have to be made today. This is a cross-stitch looping (a single needle technique used by an ancient south american culture, I forget which one now) spirit figure I made for a textile history class.

"5. Somthing You Made" for Photogamer Challenge #1 2/18/2007

this is me - three parts of me. they are my identity. the reason i work, eat, breathe, live. my responsibility is to them.

this is me.

(originally submitted to the monthly scavenger hunt, march 2006, as "something i made.")

I made Italian food for dinner.

Day 16 of December's challenge is an easy choice - "something you made" - my son!

I thought my challenge topic yesterday was "Something you made", so I took this pic. It turned out that the topic was "Somewhere you went"...

Tim brewed up some thick, dark beer today. Mmm the apartment smelled so good!

This is a necklace that i made some years ago with watermelon seeds.

I made this last fall, ready for Vista. Having tried Vista, I plan to run Ubuntu linux instead. I can do just about anything I did with Windows, and the rest I can work around.
