A banana 'tree,' showing the fruit and inflorescence - flower bud. (1 of 2 photos of it that came out well enough).
I have seen enough banana trees to recognise one when I see it. But, I wouldn't have done, until we moved here.
I was up by the sports ground and knew that there was a tree in one of the gardens. Only most of the time I can only see the leaves, due to a wall and a neighbour's gate.
The last time I went by, the garden gate was open and this caught my eye - so glad it did!
I'd been told by someone, that although banana trees grow here, they wouldn't fruit unless in a hothouse. Oh no, it's got fruit!
Sadly the chances of me seeing the flower bloom are pretty slim, that garden gate is hardly ever open. Plus with the rain we're getting, it may not be great for it, even though today hasn't been as bad.

I'm a sucker for armor and sci-fi, and the moment my oldest friend in SL saw it, she knew it was for me. Sapphire by the Gardens is a new building adding to the Melbourne skyline near Carlton Gardens, for the Definitely Dreaming theme of "Something new".
As I stated in my previous post, I attended a yoga class held in a Quaker Friends Meeting House in Trenton on Saturday morning. The building is old and is located in a seedier area of Trenton but the inside of the Meeting House was incredibly inviting and appealing to me. This is a windowsill in the empty upstairs room where the class was held.
This may not be Old San Juan but... Something new (yoga class)
