Dear friends, I apologize for the lack of comments on your photos, but a health problem is preventing me from being on the computer too long.

Did you ever think you would see a landscape photo from me? With the encouagement of a friend we ventured out on 3 weekends and shot rivers, waterfalls, forest and ocean scenes, so far this is my favourite, the southwest edge of Vancouver Island, Sombrio Beach. Any critiques are welcome.

Recomiendo verla en grande.
Cielo de paz, pradera de frescura,
donde mi corazón halló ventura y olvidó,
con tu encanto, sus dolores...
Cielo de paz, colina junto al río,
amapola de luz, pinar sombrío,
¿volveré a revivir vuestros colores? ...

Small, entirely dark sooty-brown honeyeater. Very plain and lacking any colorful distinctive features. Take care to separate from Brown Honeyeater (which is much paler, has yellow on the wings and a triangular patch behind the eye), female Scarlet Myzomela (which is smaller, paler, and has a longer bill), and White-gaped Honeyeater (which has a white patch near the bill). Found in New Guinea and northern and eastern Australia. Typically lives in coastal habitats, including parks and gardens, where vegetation is not sparse. (eBird)

Imagine our surprise when, again, the name of the bird changed between leaving for Australia and actually finding it. Originally named the Dusky Honeyeater, it is now the Dusky Myzomela. Still, we adjusted. This was one of our self-identified birds, made easy by the fact that it had absolutely no identifying marks :-)

We were on the west coast of Vancouver Island last week, and hiked in the very cold weather to Sombrio Beach and saw these surfers out in the frigid water as the sun was about to set .
I just got home from being off for two weeks, so will catch up with all of you as soon as I can.

Wild plant that gives small but very beautiful flowers, which can go unnoticed. They grow in humid and rather shady places.

Faced with such paradise, the ecstatic shadow lost his body ... Sad wandered the beach ... At 13 moons the aged body returned ... "Shadowy" day when they left forever ... Today the man is afflicted, when the light enters diagonal and does not see its long shadow ...

Vietname
I had previously come across images of this species on Flickr, and it was among the first that we had the privilege of observing in the concealed locations of Vietnam. However, capturing high-quality photographs proved to be quite a challenge. The dark plumage, the shadowy environments in which the hides were situated, and the camera settings all conspired to confuse the light meter on my camera. Fortunately, we were blessed with several opportunities, in a variety of locations, and I was able to take more than 900 photographs of this species. The female is equally striking, and even more photogenic in her poses, but for now, I will limit myself to showcasing one photograph per species.

After hiking down the beach avoiding hippies and bikini clad babes, we made our way to the cace entrance only to find a lineup to access the cave. This waterfall is apparently popular. After waiting patiently and almost fighting several selfie taking couples I managed this shot. I noticed the face after processing. VLOG below.......
The walk along Sombrio Beach uncovered many opportunities for a photo. While the tide was out, a shallow cave conveyed a different perspective on the surging waters.

The extraordinary staircase in the lobby, thought of as a "dark prelude" to the magnificent Sala di Lettura (Reading Room), was designed by Michelangelo.
Its construction began in 1523 and was completed in 1525, but Michelangelo did not see its completion, and was completed by Tribolo, Basari and Ammannati.

"antes fosses, ó triste sombra minha,
como a sombra pacífica os montes;

The Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge marks the end of the Bosphorus, just before it opens into the Black Sea. It is the newest and most monumental of the three bridges spanning the strait: suspended between continents, it feels like a gateway to the horizon.
Beyond this line begins the Black Sea, ancient and shadowy. The Greeks called it Pontos Axeinos, the “inhospitable sea,” for its storms and treacherous shores. Later, they renamed it Pontos Euxeinos —the “hospitable sea”— once they had learned to master it.
The Argonauts sailed these waters in search of the Golden Fleece. Here, legends of Amazons and lost kingdoms were born. For centuries, it was both a border and a route: between the Byzantine Empire and the steppes, between Constantinople and the heart of Asia. Today, it remains a sea of passage and mystery. The traffic continues, relentless, but the murmur of the city fades. Only the sea remains.
Just after sunset at Sombrio Beach Vancouver Island. It was a great time loads of geat people and we roasted a pig.

Photography, of a small snail, that climbed, up, a branch, of a plant, about to bloom, looking, for, a shady and humid place, where to rest. Who knows, the adventures, and obstacles, it must have, encountered, on the way, until it reached its destination.
