Dimanche 10 novembre, c’est à Meurchin qu’a eu lieu le concours national des mâles Trait du Nord. De ce rendez-vous dépend la pérennité de la race.

A grain mill was erected in 1860 on the site of the present Museum Küppersmühle by industrialist Wilhelm Vedder, one of the founding fathers of Duisburg’s Inner Harbour. The mill closed down in 1972.
The conversion of the grain mill into the Küppersmühle Museum was completed in 1999.

The Ovenbird gets its name from the nests that they build...The Ovenbird gets its name from its covered nest. The dome and side entrance make it resemble a Dutch oven.
This male is showing off its little orange crown which I've never seen before. I found it scratching its way along the forest floor on the edge of a meadow. I was just about to give up on getting a shot of it when it hoped up on this little branch that had fallen to the ground!
