The characteristic feature of…synchronistic occurrences
is meaningful coincidence, and as such I have defined
the synchronistic principle.
This principle suggests that there is an inter-connection
or unity of causally unrelated events, and thus postulates
a unitary aspect of being which can very well be described
as the ‘unus mundus’ [one world].

The Venus of the Rags sculptures by artist Michelangelo Pistoletto come in many versions but are all based on one idea. The artist purchased a plastic Venus sculpture in 1967 and placed it in his studio facing a pile of rags that he had used to clean his silk-screen mirror works. The contrast between the sculpture of the goddess of beauty and love and the soiled rags became a hallmark work in the Arte Povera movement and Pistoletto one of the movement's leading artists.

These luxe earrings are named after one of my favorite snacks and this recipe is so perfect for Fall!! I'm sooo ready to wear my thick cashmere sweaters and drink a large cup of Earl Grey tea, while I watch the leaves fall from the trees in our backyard! YAY for Fall!
All components of these luxe earrings are made out of solid 14KT gold wires. The earwires are handformed and soldered by me.
The earrings feature AAA super polished/smooth Champagne Citrine briolettes that are buttery smooth. They are absolutely divine and flawless! Each briolette measures 16mm by 16mm. The fabulous briolette is topped with clusters of AAA garnet briolettes and rondelles, and champagne citrines rondelles and cubes.
Repost in Honor of the 100th Anniversary of Howard Carter's Discovery:
"A Leap from the Lion's Head" as was quoted by the famous fictional character Indiana Jones. I love this detail from the throne chair of Egypt's famous boy-king, Tutankhamun. Notice the fine detail of this solid gold figure. What marvelous artistry!

The other work is artist El Anatsui, born in Ghana and
active in Nigeria. He is known for his "bottle top" art using thousands of aluminum pieces from alcohol recycling centers and stitched together with copper wire. While the material used for the works is stiff the resulting artwork is flexible and drapes beautifully when hung on a wall for display

I’m trying to take some time during this Covid-19 pandemic crisis to go through some of my old travel photos.... Relive the trip. Revisit the places. Reprocess the photos. It's amazing the memories and emotions that come flooding back as I look through these old photos (not to mention some of the hidden gems that I had completely ignored the first time I "finalized" the photo sets).

My cornelian and gold Cartier cufflinks from the 1980s. The attach and detach mechanism was so cleverly designed and engineered...! Not many opportunities to wear them these days.

All that glisters is gold. The 98-metre solid gold plated pagoda sits on Singuttara Hill and dominates the skyline of Rangoon, Burma. The top of the golden stupa (hti) is tipped with 5,448 diamonds and 2,317 rubies and crowned with a single diamond (sein bu) weighing 76 carats.
Rudyard Kipling wrote this of his 1889 visit to Shwedagon Pagoda,
"a golden mystery upheaved itself on the horizon, a beautiful winking wonder that blazed in the sun"
Forget the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower, Machu Picchu, the Great Wall, Petra, the Pyramids, the Sydney Opera House and all other monuments of man......
The Shwedagon is quite simply the most awe inspiring monument on earth.
