I bought my first OMD camera a good 10 years ago. Today I tried to re-process an image from back then. My impression is that the image processing software has made much more advancements than the image sensors in the camera.

Ma confiture de fraises préfèrée.
Les pots de cette marque française sont équipés d'un couvercle métallique habillé d'un motif à damiers rappelant les charlottes de tissu "Vichy" utilisées autrefois.
My favorite strawberry jam.
The pots from this French brand are equipped with a metal lid decorated with a checkered pattern reminiscent of the "Vichy" fabric charlottes used in the past.

Some software experts posed with me for a group portrait a couple months ago.
Top (L to R) is Christina, Lisa, Kandi, Cristy, and Jane.
Lower (L to R) is me and Jenna.
The concept was to publicly display some favorite software: real or faux.
I, for one, was initially surprised at the number of software experts in my collection of friends. In retrospect - maybe that should not be surprising.
After all, arguing with any one of us expert women is like reading a software license agreement...
...in the end, you ignore it all and click "I agree".
Resistance is futile.
Enjoy

A software engineer working late one night, when the extradimensional helmet of the hero Aztek came crashing into her office. After exploring its history and role in the constant battle against the ancient being Tezcatlipoca, she decided to carry on its mission.
Nayeli's actually supposed to be Latina, but I didn't bother to read up on her before I made the figure, based only on two reference pictures in weird lighting. Oops. When it comes time to improve this one, that will absolutely be corrected!
Better Viewed Large. Trying out some more new combinations in post processing with new software. Arches National Park is a beautiful national treasure. There is so much to shoot that it is hard to focus on any one thing, but for me...the colors really start to come out in low light.

The Desert Has a Voice (JHWatkins) not hdr
The desert has a voice that calls
In dry, dirt dreams-
Warm, wind-washed wonders
In wingless, soulless flight.
Cold, moonlit masquerades
Through long level years,
Crying out with countless cares on deafened ears-
Drowned in measured, motor-muffled madness,
And child-chattered, purposeless flight.
Quietly, calmly calling-
Darkened, deepening desert-
Star-filled with stumbling stalkers
And wounded warriors in fevered nights.
Dreams-peaceful, persistent, dreams-
As wheeled sky turns
Eternal turning, evening eyes-
And thoughts of morning colored light.
Millennial seas-
Doomed and dusty years-
Row upon heaping row of years-
Tears-
Caked, covered
And desolate.
The desert has a voice-
That calls and halts
And peers with perfect perspective-
Stopping us in our way.
“I have seen blood-stained battles!
I have seen despot desires!
I have seen prophets come and go,
And ages pass with shallow…glancing blows!
I have seen civilizations crumble…
Tumbling, heavy-handed
Into pagan pasts!”
The desert has a voice-
And every grain of sand has a name-
Every wind-blown grain of sand.
And someone-somewhere-knows the names.
They have perfect place and purpose-
Rocks cry out! Rocks….sing!
Some soaring angelic scribe somewhere
Records the history of rocks, and sands, and deserts.
Drab, dull, drifting desert distances and plans.
Ragged, jagged, craggy-edged
Mountain spine explosions and
Dry, desert sand.
The desert has voice and future-
With lifted hill-high green valley-
And clear bright stream winding
To cool, crystalline sea.
They wait….silently…
Almost… forever waiting-
But I know the secret of deserts-
And –
Dreams.

Using Topaz Noise Adjust 6 for the first time.
This shot of a Beach Staggerwing Replica was very noise on the underside of the aircraft. Not a very good capture but a great candidate for the test.

Giving Nik Software HDR efex Pro 2 a test run. I'm not big into HDR, but sometimes it's just kinda necessary (in small amounts). Now that I've got an awesome tripod of awesomeness, it's time I learned to embrace it.
Also thinking it might be time to leave my beloved CNX2. I love it. I wish they would upgrade it and fix all the problems with it and maybe give us a few more features, but it's been YEARS since NX2 was released, there's been no news from nik software of any intention of upgrading it, and their newest versions of the plug-ins aren't even compatible with NX..... sigh....
Testing CS6 with the nik software plug-ins now to see if I can make it close enough to NX2 to convince myself to make the switch.
