The city photographed from the headland at Cremorne Point, just above the wharf and near the Robertson lighthouse. The ferry on the harbour is heading to Circular Quay, having just departed from Cremorne Point Wharf on the Mosman Bay service - one of the best ferry journeys on Sydney harbour!!

Experimenting with combining RGB, hydrogen alpha and UHC filter data on the Carina nebula, this has approx 10 hours of data in it, RGB data from Hawker, Ha mostly from Adelaide, UHC from Hawker. I used Astro Pixel Processor to extract OIII from the UHC data which was used to add to the blue of the RGB, the Ha was used as luminance. Final tweaking in Photoshop. Mostly 10 minute exposures, D810A, APT camera control software, 600mm VR lens at f/4, Celestron CGEM II EQ mount, PHD2 guiding, Astronomik 12nm HA and UHC filters. I like the blue in this but the centre of the nebula has been blown out...

I hope this isn't too dark. I guess I can redo it if I need to. Anyway, this creation is thanks to Topaz software. I was playing around with the presets and found this one and kinda liked it.
Is anyone besides me having problems running Topaz with Windows 8.1? It keeps shutting down on me.
I passed out free shade trees today. Something the city does every year in an effort to cool the city down..:) I know you're laughing..:) but that's the plan.

Another Luminar4 sky replacement exercise, with a shot of an overflowing Mona Vale pool on Sydney's northern beaches and some tast storm cloud from the Luminar4 cloud library. Thought it worked better in mono. :)
A small drainage canal alongside the river Ruhr. Usually there is lots of duckweed during the warm months.
The Bogeyman (or Boogeyman) Nebula is a dark cloud of dust and hydrogen that stalks the constellation Orion. In this orientation I reveal that is in fact Elmo who has been doing the stalking!

The Running Man Nebula or NGC 1977 is a reflection nebula that is found in the Orion constellation ... almost 1500 lightyears away. It is called the Running Man because the shape looks exactly like that ... ie a man running. It is to the left in this photo ... a purple shape on a field of blue. But in the night sky the Running Man is actually above Orion, but here in this photo I rotated it so that you could see it better.
The Orion Nebula (Messier 42 or NGC 1976) on the right here in this photo is a diffuse nebula just south of Orion's Belt in the constellation of Orion. It is a bright nebulae and is visible to the naked eye in the night sky ... but only as a faint fuzzy smudge unless you have the help of a telescope.
This image is composed of only 11 images stacked and processed in PixInsight and Photoshop. With more images there would be much more detail visible.

Today I missed the sunrise at Ocean Reef Park on Singer Island but I was able to get a nice shot at Ocean Reef Park with these coconut trees. HDR image created in Photomatix Pro and Topaz software.

Panorama constructed from 7xVertical images stitched together in Zoner Software. Taken on 14/06/2014 at 14:07:22Hrs using a Nikon D3100 camera with a Sigma 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC MACRO OS Lens+ a 62mm UV filter.

This is not the version I wanted to upload but the new Aperture 3 does suck : I cannot get to upload the definitive version of this photo, much better cropped than this one. It appears on my screen but cannot be sent by mail or uploaded... It just drives me mad. I am very disappointed with this software by Apple.
