One year later (i.e. fall 2020), the Alex tempest made the Vésubie river that you can see, raging and devastating villages, houses and roads. Many victims and isolated people were accounted. We, scientists, have good reasons to think that such intense storms are direct consequences of the climate warming.

There has been quite thick fog here for several days now: an opportunity to take B&W photos. Edited with NIK software
A re-edit from 2018 because software has improved since then. Lightroom didn't have layer masks, and doing that in photoshop sometimes becomes cumbersome.

This shot of a Beach Staggerwing Replica was very noise on the underside of the aircraft. Not a very good capture but a great candidate for the test.

Going back through some of my old images I ran into a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers taken from Riverbend Park. I totally forgot about this photo outing I did a while back. I wonder how many other good outings I forgot about, lol. I've never gotten a good Pileated Woodpecker shot before and when I had a opportunity to photograph this pair, it was like a two for one special. Finding one Pileated Woodpecker is hard enough, but to get two was a real treat! This was a single exposure HDR image processed in Photomatix. The colors came out awesome after tone mapping in Photomatix Pro using tone compressor.
