Sometimes I see potential in a photo for these effects. Sometimes I just go willy nilly and see what happens. Sometimes I just put the photo in the trash and start over.
This is done using a layer mask and blur effect in Photoshop Elements.

..lol..You had to know I took more than one drive by fence shot..;).However, I think this is the last one I'll post. They others don't do as much for me. This one didn't either until I ran it through Topaz Studio.
The Night isn't the end of the Light
This is a photo of the city of Rovereto in Italy in the night with long exposure with an Intentional Camera Mouvement. The artificial light of the pubblic illumination and buildings are the canvas and the camera is the pen that draw. The result is an abstract painting.
No use of Photoshop or alternative software.

Had to back out of the place in Galveston. They were selling the place as a duplex but they were 2 separate places meaning double insurance and taxes because the city and government didn't see them as a duplex. I'm still on the hunt. Not easy finding something reasonable on an Island

I find Lady's Mantle to be a rather invasive plant in my garden as it seeds everywhere! But I love the way its leaves hold waterdrops, so some always gets left to grow.

Well Sydney is rather blue this morning after yesterday's tragic massacre of six people at Bondi.
Sunday, 14th April, 2024.
It has now been revealed that the man who killed six innocent people yesterday at the the Bondi Junction Westfield Shopping Centre was a 40 year old man from Queensland (and not a Sydney resident) and, more significantly, suffered from
schizophrenia, and hated women. Five of his victims were young women.
Schizophrenia is indeed a wicked mental illness that has caused, through history, such terrible grief. Goodness knows how we address it.
Today's view of Sydney is from the Balls Head Reserve, at Waverton (near McMahons Point) captured just after sunset in the 'Blue Hour', on Monday 1st April, 2024. Directly opposite Balls Head is Blues Point and the infamous 'Blues Point Tower'.

I went through and watched the videos about Astro Pixel Processor, I needed to s l o w down and pay attention, especially what sliders can do for your picture......I LOVE the features that APP offers, Like the light pollution removal tool, background calibration and color correction to name a few....I have posted the crappy one earlier, its a few pictures that way>>>>>>
I have been out and around today practising Focus Stacking and also trying some new software that is for Focus Stacking in Particular, called, "Helicon Focus 7".
This tree is three exposures with one focused on the immediate foreground, one focused on the tree and one focused behind.
The software is probably the best I have tried and is highly recommended. You open the software and you can either drag and drop the photographs you want to be stacked or choose to open the files. Once they are in the software just choose to increase the
"Radius" you wish to render at and the "Smoothness" then click on "Render". The software will do it all for you and once done then choose where to save and save the picture. Much, much quicker than Photoshop, no cropping or anything like that and it does not take up resources on the PC like Photoshop does. I honestly think the results are much better than Photoshop, detail and sharpness is outstanding.
Below is a link for the software so give it a go with the 30 day trial, I reckon you will like it especially if you are into macro photography and like to Focus Stack.

A 35mm slide image, originally shared almost a decade ago, that has brushed up nicely courtesy of the improved digital darkroom skills (and software packages) I've managed to pick up over the last few years.
In this shot an Eastern Region Rail Rover and an overnight train from London Kings Cross provided for a dawn arrival in Newcastle Central, where first light catches a class 03 shunter at the eastern end of the station ready for the day's action. The Keep, a must-do destination for rail snappers visiting Newcastle back then, stands imposingly in the background.
As ever, exposure was a bit finger in the air with the Zodel F Lightmeter (a 60's vintage hand-me-down from my Dad), but two or three bracketed shots for safety managed to yield a result.
I had a couple of these ERRR's over the years and they provided superb rail photography opportunities for this East Midlander who had rarely ventured further east than Grantham.
This version should go to full-screen quite well. The original has been deleted.

A reboot with new data of a target I have previously looked at.
The previous target was pretty but I felt it lacked all the detail the target had to offer so added an additional 30 HA subs from the RH to help realise that. Small percentages but makes a lot of difference when reviewed in detail.
It also allowed me to resolve the ICC mismatch issues my PC suffered after recent updates which caused all sorts of issues on my last image!
NGC 7822 is a young star forming complex in the constellation of Cepheus. The complex encompasses the emission region designated Sharpless 171, and the young cluster of stars named Berkeley 59. The complex is believed to be some 800-1000 pc distant, with the younger components aged no more than a few million years. The complex also includes one of the hottest stars discovered within 1 kpc of the Sun, namely BD+66 1673, which is an eclipsing binary system consisting of an O5V that exhibits a surface temperature of nearly 45000 K and a luminosity ~100000 times that of the Sun. The Canon camera that I had with me is not well known for speed so I am thankful to the game that they stayed! - Instead they just observed me very well...
Recommended to watch in orginal size.
The photo is shot in RAW mode and turned to monochrome in various steps. Edited, as always, with good Open Source software on Linux.

My local farmers field with a tree in the middle has views of Manchester City Centre in the distance.
Da die Infusion nur bei jedem dreißigsten oder vierzigsten Versuch ein Ergebnis brachte, habe ich mir eine Tropfen-Maschine gebaut. Dies wird mit einer Arduino-Karte und der Software Droplet gesteuert. Es wurden zwei Taschenlampen verwendet. Alle nachfolgenden Fotos wurden auf diese Weise erstellt.
Since the infusion set only every thirtieth or fortieth attempt brought a result, I have built myself a drop machine. This is controlled with an Arduino board and the software Droplet. Two flashlights were used. All subsequent photos were created in this way.
This was my 3rd visit to the 'Judge's Lodging' in Presteigne, Powys.
I had permission once again to take more images (in HDR), and a big *Thank You* goes once again to Gaby Rivers and the most helpful Staff at the museum.
Another big thank you goes to my mate Terry Donnelly for the lift and a great day out.
