On the 17th of October Sydney was shrouded in a dense smoke cloud from bushfires in the Blue Mountains. Whilst the conditions made for an impressive sunset, one could not help thinking of the people affected by the fires, including those that lost everything.

A wonderful peaceful place on the north island.

This morning I took another walk outside. Hoping for first dawn's light, I was, instead, treated to the moody fog over these young grapevines. It's difficult to describe the serenity of walking in this space with the only sound being the dripping of water droplets from time to time, and the calls of local birds, which are plentiful here.

Wishing us all a peaceful day and softer vision of our circumstances and our fellow human beings.
