If you found this photo via a Google image search because someone on Craigslist is looking for a nanny but it sounds suspicious, your suspicions are correct. That Craigslist poster is a scam and they are NOT the family pictured here. I took these photos for my friends back in 2009 and they currently do not live in the US. I am disheartened that my images are used in such an awful manner and I apologize for the inconvenience.
Sofia. Bulgaria. Found on an old memory stick. Can't remember the year, it pissed down all weekend, everything was shut because it was Easter & I broke my camera shortly after the last shot here was taken. But it remains one of the best times KDG and I have ever had.
3 smaller Tiuterra Swarowsky crystals flew to the International Space Station with astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti. This on Tiuterra No. 91/100, flew on SOFIA, flight 3/4 July 2015.

Tiuterra was made by Swarowsky with stones collected from around the world during Mars MDRS WSW 2013 mission, including one from Antarctica, one from MDRS, one from a New Zealand oceanic vent and a Mars Meteorite!

SOFIA was Boeing 747SP-21 N747NA, LN306/MSN 21441 (originally purchased by Pan American World Airways, Inc. as N536PA 'Clipper Lindbergh' and later, sold to United Airlines as N145UA).
After commercial service with Pan Am and later with United Airlines, this airplane became the platform for SOFIA (the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy). For this role, the airplane was extensively modified into a flying observatory/telescope, and was jointly operated by NASA and the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt, abbreviated DLR).
She took her maiden flight as SOFIA on May 26, 2010. Retiring after having served for a little over 12 years, SOFIA took her final flight on September 28-29, 2022. She is now on display at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona.

The Russian church “St. Nikolay” is located in the center of Sofia, at the intersection of Rakovska and Tsar Osvoboditel streets. It is one of the most remarkable buildings in Sofia. It was built in the period between 1907 and 1914 by a project of the Russian architect M. Preobrazhensky on the initiative of the Russian Embassy and on his land.
The wall paintings are works of Russian artists, under the directions of Vasiliy Perminov. There are 4 icons on the iconostasis, which are copies of the icons in the Kiev cathedral “St. Vladimir”. The five small domes of the church are covered in gold, and the bells were donated by the Russian Emperor Nikolay the 2nd. Until 1947 in the temple worked monks from the so-called Russian Orthodox church abroad and the temple was а center for the numerous Russian emigrants in Bulgaria. It was handed over to the diocese of the Moscow Patriarchate after 1947, who has been managing it to the present day.
The grave of Archbishop Seraphim Sobolev is laid in the temple crypt. The archbishop was considered a miracle maker by many orthodox Christians. Even nowadays many people write letters to him, asking for help, and leave the letters near his grave, believing that he will help them. He led the Russian Orthodox communities in Bulgaria from 1921 to 1950.

Sofia decided at the last minute that she wanted to go to Prom. We rushed around today finding a dress. Once she was ready to go she seemed to have second thoughts, saying "I look like I'm going to the club", but stuck with her look anyway. So, I like this shot the best of the ones I took, it looks like she's going to the club....Girls nowadays are so sophisticated!
