Our Happy Caturday theme this week is from the wedding wish:
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Here's Rena on the sofa bed in the family room. I was sleeping on it while Alex was visiting.
Alex left on Tuesday and today my brother Doug arrives for the last few days of my visit with my parents. I wake up very early (even on the west coast) so I am here on Flickr this morning but my mom won't be as she is getting things ready for Doug's visit.

En tous cas, Sue et moi, nous avons passé un bon moment dans les allées et recoins d'Ikea que nous avons élu comme terrain de chasse pour notre dernière photo de ce projet 365.
Cela n'a pas été facile tous les jours, mais dans l'ensemble, nous y avons pris beaucoup de plaisir et cet exercice quotidien nous a sans nul doute permis d'affûter le regard que nous portons sur les êtres et sur les choses qui nous entourent.

Possum loves freshly laundered sheets. As I have been identified by the NHS as someone at risk if I catch Coronavirus, I am having to isolate for at least 12 weeks, this means sleeping downstairs on a sofabed.

Your baby also deserves a pallet bed. We made this moon shaped cradle pallet bed totally out of pallets. I saw a picture of moon shaped cradle and guessed at the measurements. It was all done by trial and error. The hardest part was the sides and getting the correct shape and height of bottom to make it sit correctly and even. It took me about 40 hrs from start to finish. Used a saw to break down pallets back into boards. I stained the boards with opaque white stain before fastening the boards from the back with cross members. Then, due to the weight, I bolted the entire thing to the wall to avoid injury! (source)
For this pallet be, I used Ana White's Farmhouse pallet bed plans as a launching point but tweaked them to include reclaimed pallet wood insets. I loved the contrast of the weathered and new wood and added interest of the diagonal boards. Overall, it was a simple build. The most difficult part was incorporating the pallet wood insets. So much to say.
This was more or less how every Saturday night started I think, but then, it was a long time ago, so I can't remember some things. Like I can't remember the year, but it must still be around 1984. However, there are a number of items of note in the photo which bear some description.
This is my bedroom. Plainly. The large can of Boots hairspray is a giveaway, as is the fact that this was my bedroom, so I'm bound to remember. Tommy has 'borrowed' my crimpers to apply the hot metal plates to Richard's trouser area. Richard, Eyeless in Gaza tshirt and lumberjack shirt akimbo, is obviously not too keen on this idea and is attepting to hide behind the impossibly uncomfortable sofabed that came from my Grandma's house. On the sofabed, Ashley is just about bearing the weight of his large hair and he and Chalky, in his favourite Volvo jacket are just kind of wondering when we are going to go to the Murderers. Which we do. Because there's a 'y' in the day.
As yes, that is me. I didn't actually go out like that. At least, I don't think I did. I sometimes came back like that.

It would appear that the Scandiwegian conspiracy goes way back too! My Ikea sofabed has a box for storage underneath, which is exactly the right size to hold 32 vintage Lego storage containers 2 across and 2 deep!! I just need 2 more to complete the puzzle :D
Or possibly it is just a triumph of the metric system :D
